WHAT IS IXION?
IXION combines city building, survival elements and exploration, into a thrilling space opera as you explore the stars. Propelled onwards through a perilous journey, you are the Administrator of the Tiqqun space station, charged with finding a new home for humanity.
A population to manage, survivors to find, cryopods to recover... Maintain your crew's trust in the corporation that started this venture, or face failure and mutiny. Six sectors can be unlocked within the station, each able to house more population, support new jobs, and provide opportunity to monitor the crew with the Data Listening System. Will you bring hope to the people?

Oh wow! I love the little touch of having the voice change as you move around (nice and echoy as if it is broadcast throughout the hall, and then electronicy when you're in the map view! So neat!
In the original fallout series (before fallout 3) the enclave lived not in a vault but an old converted oil rig. When they said delos was using a converted oil rig as HQ it has to be a reference

That does make sense I would not doubt that they are a fan of fallout since one of the ship types the names could be called the bos ship in fallout 3
@@CharliePryor Or, the fact that the corporation seems to be organized so that it was founded with the intent of, or was restructured along the way to find ways to operate outside of legal constraints.
This would make the abandoned offshore platform extremely appealing, as it would be in international waters (international waters is what space is currently considered) where there are no enforceable laws in any court.
According to current maritime law, the captain of a vessel can hold a tribunal aboard a vessel in international waters for someone onboard said vessel "disrespecting" him or her, find them guilty without any testimony or input from anyone onboard and sentence them to death. The captain of a vessel in international waters is the dictator of his vessel!
The captain could then carry out the execution and dispose of the body by "sea burial" legally without ever returning to any country's jurisdiction. Sounds pretty favorable to any corporation that is looking to "motivate" employees!

If you hadn't over built storages and cafeterias, you could have built the probe launcher and found the point of interest @4 o'clock of the Saturn orbit (a bit outside) that would have provided 2 electronics and 20 polymer, and eased events in Chapter 1.
The Opening sequence is awesome!!!! Loving this gameplay. I'm on chapter 4 already.

Being in the orbit of the moon does make sense! A spacestation is being built to orbit the moon. Rocket Lab x NASA sent a mission up to propery calculate/study the orbit etc.

You could do one more thing in prologue before doing main jump. With probe launcher you could find settlements (or something like that) in the space for some optional dialogue.
Wow....the Moon has been destroyed...along with the Earth... Interesting premise in this game so far. Color me intrigued!
That cutscene was awesome, reminds me of the opening cutscene to Hardspace in it just sucks you fully into the world

When you started clearing debris the pathing reminded me Sim City. I'm into this.

I'm pretty new here, so I apologize if this has been noted before- but good golly your voice sounds SO MUCH like @ChristopherOdd!! Loving your videos so far- I just caught up on the Infection Free Zone playthrough.
You know? This is a great game but, for a time, I think it would have been better if, instead of humans, Earth etc, there would be an alien civilization to play with.
We have already saw thousands of times the destruction of Earth and wonderful colonization efforts.
But none a time a similar situation with an alien species. In this context aliens can be easily be like humans with two arms, two legs, a face with two eyes and a mouth,just to allow us humans to comprehend their point of view.
And for a time we would have enjoyed something new.

What a good setup for a story! Sort of misleading the player into a false sense of security and human ingenuity and then BAM!
Wild guess, Vanir himself sabotaged the drive. I mean it makes sense, he's really the only one with the access and from his speech, he seemed a bit too mad villain-y.

Hi charlie, sometimes when you pause the game there are some yellow lines in the border of the screen. What those lines mean? Thank you.
They are actually there every time I pause. It is a visual indication that time is stopped/paused

You could have deleted the road on the left of the residential area to free up the space that you needed for a Docking Bay or Probe Launcher.
There is already a probe launcher made in the section. I don't understand what you're saying. Why do I need another?

It's a small nitpick, but I find it silly how they show in the cutscene close/open hatches at 2:13-2:30 of the video when there are less than a minute left to launch. What if one of the hatches malfunctions and won't open/close in time? Would they have the time to abort the launch?

I think one thing you need to pay attention to is that you're not pausing/slowing down your game when you're thinking or planning.
Food and resources are being used every moment so just losing it while thinking may become fatal in the long run.
That won’t matter as we play. In fact it’ll become clear that pausing is just slowing things down without benefit, as we play

Love colony building, but since I'm not a fan of sci-fi/space games, was ignoring this title until your video. Really interesting stuff, wonder if it's story-driven/locked or if there's a "free mode" available for replayability, gonna keep an eye out. Cheers!

One of the best opening sequences I've seen in any game, backed up by an absolutely awesome soundtrack! It's a pity the actual gameplay didn't match that quality ... this is a 'gaming experience' that plays you, not one that you play & that is simply not fun. Yes, Frostpunk is/was similar but 'similar' is the operative word here - at least Frostpunk was fun to play, this is not.
So i think we can learn at least one thing here; never EVER test an FTL drive in the vicinity of a inhabited or imortant planetoid.
Do you prefer this or Crust? I missed the Kickstart for Crust so I cant play anything till July, which sucks. I saw this video from you looking for something fun and similar. Its my first trip into these types of games. Surviving mars just seemed dated imo. Would you recommend this in the meantime or?

The demo's ending had me so intrigued that I wanted to buy this game (as soon as it went on sale, of course). But damn, I also wanna watch this playthrough and see what it's like overall.

45:10 if you accelerate thru space the passage of time accelerates with you, the closer you get to speed of light the faster time passes. It would be a little too much to explain but in short term, if you traveled to proxima centauri in that ammount of time a few hundred years would pass on earth. (not game science, real science, space is crazy like that)

The background noise from the game over powers your commentary.
The Teaser Trailer for the game gave me chills. I was slightly disappointed that this is another Base-Building Game, but then I saw the EA gameplay. Color me intrigued when resource management and exploration is tacked onto Space, which a lot of games have not fully explored. Terra Invicta had great ambitions but its more of a political intrigue (especially at the start) but grows to a full fledged 4X game when you finally step into Space Colonization.
Now seeing more of the early game here, it just became more interesting how instead of jumping space, Ixion jumped through time and we basically have to reexplore Sol for resources and repopulate humanity on another Galaxy.
And it’ll continue getting better as it goes. :)
