Thanks for this. There are several methods for generating a cutline. Another video to watch is the one by Stahls' TV called Creating a Cutline in Adobe Illustrator. I thought that was simpler.
I have a question. I have a design that is a vector file. I am trying to add the cut contour lines like in your video. The issue I am having is when I click unite in Pathfinder it does not unite all paths. It fields it in grey and leaves paths. Can you give me advice. I followed your video. Thanks!
The printer at my work they can't see a cutcontour and can't cut it :( I Made it with Illustrator CS6. Process/spot color (called it Cutcontour) - 100% magenta - -0,3mm cutcontour - (at save, format TIFF 8 bit/transparant, Embed fonts, Transparency Overprints: Preserve Language 3 and check every box!) Can anyone tell me what I need to do, or what the printer people do wrong?
Hi. This miight sound dumb but how does the plotter recogonize what to cut? Do you have a complete tutorial from setting up the cut line to having your plotter cut it. Coz i dont get how that works lol
good thought.but key to this video.has nothing do with cutter itself.am shur there is many brands with different techniques..im clueless but interested to learn even if fur fun..ppl have asked me in past about stickers.never added cut lines.so..im gaining to learn.
one thing i noticed..when you did this video.you had no going thru the proper save method for this.saying because there is newbies every day in illustrator groups on fb..and many may like to know the full ordeal when designing specific things..the save as we know is critical..keep up more vids.think to play being i was asked foor help and never added cut lines.lol..i get the bleed factor too so no white in printing.makes sense.

Far to complicated. For signmaker other softwar is superior Cut contur is so important and is one click. Never now why so many use AI for it.
share if its simple.so others learn to save time.time an money for some..even if have to get other software. have read most do love ai though
