    When you have two machines from the same maker at the SAME price point! Well, Nokta oughta be paying you for explaining it all to the consumer. Well done, Stephen!

      I dont have the double score, but maybe I can talk one of the other NOMADS into making a video like that.

    Excellent video, I've been trying to decide which detector to buy next, I currently have an ACE250. You have helped persuade me to buy a simplex ultra. I have 2 questions that I hope you can help me answer. #1 Will the Simplex Ultra pick up on a coin that might have a nail very close to it ( like next to it) or laying somewhere above it? I have a lot of pre-1930s houses with a lot of buried nails near me and I'm tryin to get that silver but my ACE250 sees the nail and doesn't signal the coin. #2 You mentioned using earbuds with the simplex ultra but I thought I read that only Nokta headphones will "pair" with the detector? Is there a way around that or have I been misled? Thank You for your time!
    Bonus question if you don't mind, why would I want to lower recovery speed? Is there a cost to having fast recovery?

    • @southernrelics

      I’m glad you enjoyed the video.
      To answer your first question, yes the Ultra will do a great job at picking up a coin in the midst of nails.
      Yes as long as the earbuds are “low latency” Bluetooth headphones and they will pair with any of the new Legend, Simplex, Score series detectors.
      For the bonus question. Lowering the recovery speed will maximize depth, but you would have to swing slower. This feature works great on really old properties where the targets are super deep.

    Is the double score a better and deeper detector than these ? Are headphones interchangeable with these and the legend? Thanks for your videos

    • @southernrelics

      The Score and DS will have similar depths. And yes the same headphone will work between the Simplex Series, Score series and the Legend.

    Thanks for breakdown on these two new detectors !! Do these new detectors share same shaft as old simplex plus ?? I want the 17000652 longer shaft for my old simplex plus but not sure about fit ???

    • @southernrelics

      Yes the shaft diameter/size is the same between the Score, Simplex and Legend.

    What is the advantage of having multiple frequencies?

    • @southernrelics

      The simultaneous multi-frequency gives the detector more stability in soil that has more mineralization. Salt water beaches is a good example of that. Plus, even in normal soil, the more frequencies penetrating the ground gives you more chance on more targets detected by the machine.

  • @haak737

    Does the Ultra have any benefits over the Trippel Score? And are the multi frequency on the Score models, the sama as on the Legend (4-40khz)?

    • @southernrelics

      The Triple Score is a better detector than the Simplex Ultra.
      The Triple runs the same frequencies except 40. It does not do 40.

    • @haak737

      @@southernrelics Thanks for your fast reply. I have asked Nokta headquarters about this but do not get an answer yet. On the Score facebook group i read that it has the same frequencies as the Legend. That is important because a 4 to 20khz MF is not that interesting as the difference to a singel frequency machine likte the Ultra then is small. So you are 100% sure it does not have 40Khz? Why is the TS better except from (light?) multi frequency? Cheers from Norway

    • @southernrelics

      @haak737 I represent Nokta here in the US as a Nomad, and I’m glad to help and give you advice.
      The Triple Score does not have the 40 kHz.
      I have been meaning to do a side-by-side test between the triple Score and the Ultra to see how they are different over targets.

    • @haak737

      @@southernrelics The answer from Nokta headquarters...multi frequency data is a secret: We would like to inform you that while the Legend operates at 4 kHz, 10 kHz, 15 kHz, 20 kHz, 40 kHz, and multi frequencies, the Triple Score operates at 4 kHz, 15 kHz, 20 kHz, and multi frequencies. For confidentiality reasons, we cannot share information about the multi-frequency specifications, as these details are not disclosed even to us by technical experts.

    • @southernrelics

      I agree with that statement. It is confidential.
      But again, the Triple does not run in the single frequency of 40, but that doesn’t mean the multi function doesn’t run it. But to be safe, I would say it doesn’t.

      I’m not sure if anyone has been in the water with one yet. Probably not in the northern hemisphere, since it did not come out until November, and it’s in the middle of winter time here. I imagine come springtime, people will get in the water with it. But common sense tells us that it is wintertime and people don’t get in the water in the winter time with metal detectors. If I lived near the coast, I would. But I’m 4 1/2 hours away and don’t make trips to the beach but maybe once every two years.
      I did talk to the other TH-cam channel called Southern relic adventures. He has had his on wet sand, but I’m not sure about in the water. He said it is super stable in wet sand.

    I like Nokta since I can pair ear buds instead of headphones and I can wear my sunshade hat on the beach. I dont know why other companies are still forcing the use their headphones.
