You should take a tour of the Oxford UK MINI assembly plant. They are still very British! Body panels come from the Swindon factory and engines from the Hams Hall plant, all in the UK. BMW has owned the brand since 1994 when they purchased the Rover group but only invested in improving the UK factories. BTW, your engine is a collaboration with Peugeot.
Always find it interesting when people say they are a city car but I have to disagree since as you say, they really do drive their best on the country B roads. Love to drive and look at, great to cry at maintenance and petrol costs 😂

Just got a tweaked JCW - 220 Bhp and 318 NM gets things moving nicely. Superb, absolute hoot to drive, love it to bits.
