Forgiven is an inspirational story in the tradition of High Plains Drifter and Pale Rider with a Faith-based message. It's 1878 and Jake Kincaid (Alan Autry from "In The Heat Of The Night") has just been released from prison for a crime he didn't commit. His heart is seeking vengeance on those responsible for landing him in jail, but he's also very interested in finding the gold he was accused of stealing. In his quest, he finds himself in the small town of Fairplay, California where Kincaid learns that love is far more powerful than hate and that redemption is more precious than gold. Forgiven is Alan Autry's directorial debut and a western the whole family can enjoy.

This was awesome movie i always loved big bubba in The Heat Of The Night and his sherriff buddy on this movie i cant remember his name at the moment he should play in more westerns i miss John Wayne but Open Range was a great one .

Parker was his name
That was David Hart who played the sherif. He played Parker Williams on "In the heat of the night ". Absolutely was a favorite show of mine.
I also see every morning Heat of the night Me tv3-2 Bounce they also shows heat of the night.sometimes up to 3-4 hours a day from monday -Friday.never miss those shows.

Wasn't a big fan of The Dukes, but it's good to see actors from past TV shows in movies of redemption. Ed Asner and Carroll O'Connor are a couple of my favorites. To me Carroll O'Connor redeemed himself from Archie Bunker, when he took on the role of Chief Gillespie.

This was a collection of western movie cliche's. They didn't miss a single one. It was like watching one of those old Liberty Pictures Horse Operas from back in the day. Aside from that it was a little hokey, kind of humorous and well worth watching.

It’s funny the way some actors become popular and easily climb to the top of the slippery pole of success, and others only get so far . Perhaps Bubba did better than I know,but it seems to me he should be more ,a super star in fact . He makes a wonderful job of this part for example,not that I liked the movie,I thought it was simplistic and that kind of proselytizing does God no favours

This movie was a total surprise. When I saw so many times that the same names showed up in the beginning credits of the movie, I didn't expect much, but I was really wrong. It was very well written, scripted, directed and acted. This is one of those great movies that never got all the credit it deserves.

What a delightful replay of most that is good about Westerns. Back then, redemption was usually just around the corner. What does that say about how we treat the "criminal element" today? How many "felons" can ever hope to get a decent job today? The justice system seems to me to be far less responsible for such endemic injustice than societal values and sensibilities. We need to change!!!
