I was in same congregation as Jim and in my opinion he was the most devoted Jehovahs Witness I'd ever met so it was a shock when he came out of it along with other Elders in the same congregation.

I left May 4th 2019 after 27 years in the JW cult. So glad people are waking up and leaving the book publishing company known as Watchtower.

When I was diagnosed with Cancer you would have thought I had a contagious disease. I got a visit from an Elder whilst I was convalescing from , Radiation, Chemo 3 bouts of Surgery and 6 months Chemo during this period, His motive for visiting was to offer to put a cart and a chair outside my apartment, how loving!!!!!!

Just joking, I couldn’t resist, reminds me of my own experiences with the callous attitudes of “loving” elders.

Oh my Goodness! What precious man! I was totally captivated. Jim truly shines for Jesus.
I had tears...... he got baptized in 1966 at 15. I got baptized in 1964 at 14. He is a year younger than me.
And he has not been out of JWs that many years, I can’t imagine! Yet his knowledge of Scripture and his deep faith in Jesus looks like a lifetime of loving the true God. He has Him now! Amazing what the Holy Spirit does in us when we have that awakening day. Having fellowship with true believers is the key to gaining Freedom and overcoming the scars.
I send my love to him!

I was an Elder and Pioneer and left for the same reason....Love of Christ.
I am a mother of two boys who were raised in the Watchtower doctrine by my ex-husband who announced to me one day they would not be going to church with me anymore but to the JW meetings. That was 41 years ago. My eldest remains in the organization and my youngest has turned his eyes from God. I will NEVER give up praying that the Holy Spirit will remove the veil from their eyes and ears so they can see Jesus. Thank you Jim for sharing your testimony. It encourages me to continue fighting the good fight!
I noticed that my cousin who has been an elder for over 40 years, seemed uncomfortable when I focused on Jesus Christ, the Great I Am, I have come to realize, the watchtower doesn't like Jesus Christ, this is why when people leave the org. and turn to Jesus Christ for salvation, the elders make us enemy's for our Love for Jesus Christ, thank you Jim for your testimony, Much Love Sent To You.
Wow very true. I was blocked on Facebook by other Witnesses because I talked more about Jesus than Jehovah.
They are removing Jesus from the picture. I can’t remember the last time there was a book, Watchtower, video, convention talk etc about Jesus! The GB has replaced him
Even God said himself this is my beloved son listen to him no name in the heavens is greater than Jesus or on Earth
They reject Jesus every year at their memorial.
In my Judicial I asked them - if you were going from door to door with God by your side and it was His turn to witness - what would he talk about? They didn't answer so had them read 1 John 5:9-12 ... but as you can imagine you could sense their discomfort and they would not respond.
Thanks Jim for standing out for Jesus despite the elders' employing bullying tactics on you. Your testimony is powerful! Like you, my wife is still JW and we respect each other's boundaries. We have resolved not allow differences in religious views to come between us. I left the cult in 2020 by writing a letter of DA. I thank Jesus for saving me from this Antichrist cult. It's my prayer that God will keep sustaining Jim and his family.

Wow! My experience is similar, a slow and deliberate walk towards the christ ,this month is one year since I have been disfellowship for apostasy, now following the christ, no regrets. But here is what I have been observing mature, morally clean witnesses are having similar experiences all over the world. God bless Jim

He has been a breath of fresh air. I turned my disassociation letter in on July 15th, 2022. My youngest daughter shortly before me. My husband says he’s staying in but he doesn’t do hardly anything; no service, missed meetings, doesn’t pray that I see, etc. He’s always been fine with the minimal effort. My daughter and I always were told we weren’t spiritual enough by the brothers, even though we made 90% of meetings & 90% weekend service. It felt robotic.
Since I left I’ve been thinking about what I believe. I have had a hard time thinking (believing) there isn’t a God. Just didn’t want to jump back into another load of crap.
Update: my husband turned in his letter of disassociation in August because the elders kept asking him if I left because of a side effect of medication. So I guess they think I’m “mentally diseased.”
Good on you for escaping, it's not easy. I lost my entire family and went through a lot of hardships after leaving that I had to endure alone. I just wanted to offer you some support and tell you to please just try Jesus out. I was so scared when I left too to ever trust in God again. One day I asked Jesus to show me if he was real though and I literally SAW HIM APPEAR TO ME. The comfort and beauty I felt in that moment were unlike anything else I've ever known. Seek God and he will come to you too. He loves us so much. God bless💝
Sounds like my husband. I would hound him for not doing enough especially. He found it easier to be seen and dress up nice and go to meetings. Meanwhile nothing at home, no praying, bible study, family worship or stuff that couldn’t be seen. This was one of the reasons I felt the organisation was false because what I wanted to focus on the spiritual within the home and not the cold robotic showy spirituality.
Jesus is the way and light. He is salvation. Not the GB God Bless you. Pray and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior . It’s sad this religion turns people away from Christ

I did 9 years as a servant and 1 1/2 years as a reg pioneer when it was 90 hours. I need some back pay’ from WT!

The Watchtower is the most judgmental and two faced people that you will ever meet.

I did a lot of service hours alone. Auxiliary several times a year- pioneered 2 years. There was a book study in some elderly lady's house who also was poor. It was switched when someone could not tolerate or would come because of the heat or maybe it was the looks of the house. Cannot remember now. She was always faithful.

Of all the interviews I’ve heard over the years, this is the one that has stuck with me. A decent man confronted with indecency after indecency. What brought me back to this after almost a year is the series The Chosen. I have read the gospels for 40+ years but I have learned more about Jesus, the real Jesus as depicted in the gospels, in a few brief scenes that I did in all my years of reading and study. Thank you for your courage Jim. You have inspired me.
Thankyou so much for this interview, I've just left this organization within this last month! I was a pioneer for 14 years & kicked to the curb! It was the biggest blessing I ever recieved! Thanks to Jim for sharing his story and for explaining how to fill the void and not lose everything.
Much of his story resonated with me. I was unfairly disfellowshipped in 1984 at the age of 18 and really struggled.
Although it is nearly 40 years ago, it still rears it's head and the repercussions are still being felt now.
I found my relationship with God again, but it took some years. I felt I was doomed to destruction.
A low self-esteem still remains and a sense of being not worthy sometimes., .
However, I have been truly blessed and have an attitude of gratitude, which grows stronger all of the time.

My husband woke up while he was battling cancer for him it was when his surgeon asked him what "parts of blood" he would except? It shocked him, he wanted to research he used Google for the first time ever. Of course I was a good witness no matter how much I loved him I refused to listen. He told me he had absolute faith even though he may not live to see my eye's opened he knew he would be the one to open them. In a heartbeat he was gone as I went through his things for the first time ever I allowed myself to read and listen maybe trying to keep him close. In a heartbeat I knew he was right all along I hope he forgave me for choosing the Governing Body over him an amazing husband and father who I could always rely on to speak the truth but above all things he loved me unconditionaly. He truely believed he would be the one I am so grateful he never gave up on me.

I wish I still had a belief in something, my life from a child through to mid life was spent in the jw cult, it's destroyed my belief in anything, hopefully not forever🙏

Had to pause half way through. What a wonderful interview and a beautiful man. I so very well understand him when he said he felt the presence of Christ. I get it totally because I know that God and Jesus has touched my heart in a great way. I know what it means when Their spirit bears with my spirit.
And how on Earth can one talk too much about Christ?? He is the very means of our salvation. Our Lord and Savior. Reminds me in the Scriptures where those bearing witness to Christ were ordered not to be preaching his name. WTorg = modern day Pharisees who despise Christ.. Running ahead of the governing body? The governing body put themselves in Christ place, and they will always be ran ahead of because they hate Jesus.

Beautiful point about the gentleman you encountered that asked if you knew Christ.... the most powerful witness to a JW is not to argue or show them how they have been deceived (this just puts them on the defensive, reinforces their persecution complex, and activates Digging in of the Heels) but sharing with them the joy of knowing Christ and telling them how it has improved your life. The fact that his words stuck with you all those years shows just how much more power a positive example can have as opposed to arguments over doctrine or Scripture. We don't have to try to talk JWs out of their current beliefs... sometimes just a GENUINELY Christ-like example is enough to help them start to question/wonder.

What a beautiful interview with a humble
man who thoroughly knows the Bible and puts it into practice. When he was determined to focus on Christ he was treated abominably. Him coming out gave me the impetous to get out so I hope by watching this many more will be enboldened to escape and even better to come out with faith intact. Watchtower does not represent God or Christ. Thank you Jim, a dear man who terrified me when he was an elder. How wrong could I be but then Watchtower distorted everything.?

I appreciate all activists who try to expose the cult and its sick ways. I was a fourth gen born in now ex cult member. I always felt alone but with the internet its great to see so many who are in my same boat. Although I don't agree with you on the existence of god, now I am an atheist. But one place we can agree is this is a cult and a dangerous one.

Elaine, half way through this video you said something that resonated with me. I thought that I might have been just feeling "good" about someone talking about Jesus, but I remember one thing.
I was almost blown away with a feeling of warmth, kindness and light when my friend (stranger then) said the word Jesus as part of the conversation. I then started going to services starting Easter and have been attending church for about 2+ years. I can't explain it, but I do believe that feeling and shock I got from it allowed God to show me that this was the right person to follow / learn from.

Sounds like my story ,i was never an elder but was a min servant for a while ,i came off because of the constant demands , i woke up about the same time as Jim at memorial time ,i was very emotional after the meeting and it all happened at once ,scripture just hit me ,Jesus said i have been given all authority and you will be witneses of me and it was change of the FDS to just 7 men now8 that made no sense ,they taught us from Russels time that all the anointed were the faithfull slave then a sudden change unsuported by scripture .im faded out wife still jw , i now go to the anglican church for communion 2 or 3 times a month .

Fascinating interview.... Im certain I have crossed paths with Jim, probably at district conventions in the UK.... We are the same age group and from around the same time in the org..... I also remember the exodus in Hull.... It was indeed huge at the time...

I partook and since then Holy Spirit has shown me many things. JW's who don't partake will never recognize cult keeping them from seeing the actual truth.
Did you make it at home? I remember being freed from many vices like pornography when I found out his Jesus’ real name and made my own bread and bought the Kosher wine. I didn’t partake but I wanted to be home since I had been sick.

How do you really know? My mum was a JW for 50 years! She was the most loving. kind and helpful person who would stop as she went from door to door and sit on the pavement with a begger. She loved people as do many JW'S I have have met. Its the same in all churches! there are many good some indifferent & a few bad!
@@kiwihans100 I really know because I have been associated with them since childhood! I am not saying I didn't Love my brothers or sisters but it's "Watchtower" is who I have a problem with. Ok after I was baptized the party was over ....no one ever took a interest in me or called or ever came to my house to "Shepherd" may God strike me dead if I am lying to you you. They are the biggest fair weathered friends and not my brothers. Love is the identifying of True Christianity! Thank you Jesus Christ 🙏 amen! They are cold hearted hypocrites with thier holier than thou "Governing Body" with that crass drunk Tony Morris the Bully. God's organization I think not!
