I hand good evening. I would like to convert some of my hornby 9 f can you let me now how you achieved the conversion if possible also can you convert mainline steam locos to three rail also by the way your 9f runs and looks great many thanks Colin.

How well does the 9F operate on the 3 rail track / turnouts ? I'm just starting to build a HD 3 rail layout & would like to convert one to 3R if it runs reasonably well. Great layout ! Thanks
It seems to run OK and it has good hauling power as you can see from the number of Hornby Dublo tank wagons it's pulling and they're quite heavy. The 9F is one of the tender drive ones with traction tyres on the tender and so generally runs fairly well. I haven't so far had any problems with derailments.

@@skin150263 Thanks, I wish Hornby could've made a 9F before they were bought out. The original dublo locos are so nice.
How is it possible? Is it easy enough to convert I have alot of 2 rail trains but only a few 3 track and would love to have a go
I'm working on a new video and I'll include a bit showing how I've done it. There are others who can make better pick ups than I can though!
