How I Keep My Pool Water Crystal Clear All Summer Long!!!

  • In this video I show you exactly how I keep my above ground pool water crystal clear blue all summer long. I have an 18 foot round above ground pool that I've owned since 2017. Pool stores will try to sell you a bunch of unnecessary chemicals that really are a waste of money. To keep my water fresh and clean, I use only a few simple affordable chemicals you can purchase from Walmart that won't break the bank.
    CBBM Method
    C = Chlorine
    B = Baking Soda | Raises PH and Alkalinity
    B = Borax | Raises Alkalinity Only
    M = Muriatic Acid | Lowers PH & Alkalinity

    This video is fantastic. I’ve had above ground pools for 30 years and I follow these same simple steps.
    Neighbors spend MUCH more on chemicals, and get worse results. Something the test-kit-chemists fail to tell above-ground owners is that the chemistry is simplified since we have liners (as do some in ground pools).
    This video of yours should be watched by every above-ground pool owner who wants to spend less time and money…and enjoy their pool more!

    We just had our 24ft x 52" pool installed Friday and super excited to get in it. It is yet a bit cold though. Used our local city well water from a water tanker to fill it. Shocked, put 3 chlorine tablets in the skimmer box attached to the pool since we had to get a new floater. Will change them out so they float but put the solar cover on to keep the pollen from getting in. Was really bad these past few days. I will most likely change to his methods to save money but our initial cost was a bit high. Since i didn't want to waste water with a vacuum, I got a cordless vacuum to attach to my skimmer pool. New for me, so I will see how it works. Thanks for these tips and the website!!

    Last year was my first experience with owning an above ground pool. It was great for a few weeks and then it turned into a nightmare. The pool turned green and it took me literally 4-5 weeks working in it every day to finally get it clear enough for swimming again and by that point it was already early September and swimming season was over.
    We drained it this year and started over. It's been almost one full week and I'm so paranoid every single morning when I look out the window afraid it turned green overnight (I may be crazy but it's a legit fear, lol). I've been scouring YT for videos and yours really made me think that just maybe I actually CAN do this. I fear if it turns green again I'll just give up.
    But, this was an AWESOME video and great information--thank you!!

      First time doing this. No knowledge to care for a free pool! I am shaking as to what can happen in the next days. I didn't know it needed so much
      No wonder the person who gave it away would drain every weekend. I can't drain and waste all that water 😮. I am still learning. I actually just want to quit. Hope all goes well with yours.

      You're welcome! If you watch my "How To Open an Above Ground Pool" video, I explain how to fix a green pool. It's really easy, but many people don't understand it. Watch that video to learn how to fix a green pool. I open my pool in a horrible state plagued with a ton of green algae every year and I am swimming in a crystal clear blue pool within a week every year. It's really easy to do once you understand what's actually going on in the pool. Good luck to you!

    Thank you!! Wish you were in Alabama!! How often do you vacuum your pool for algae. We had a terrible time last year. It was our 1st year having a pool. We had no clue how to maintain it. It’s a rectangular above ground pool that holds 15,000 gallons. It’s as large as an in ground pool. We tried to hire people to maintain it for us. But none of the professionals cleaned above ground. They said they were too hard to keep up. Your video gave us some great info. Hopefully this summer will be better.

      I siphon vacuum for algae probably around twice a month. It just all depends on how much algae I see on the bottom of the pool. Hope my video helps you. Good luck this year!

    Vincent this was the most simply broken down information ever. I thank you so much you did a great job. I only have one question, did you dig you pool to be a little deeper? Only asking b/c at the end the way you kind of dove in. Thank you dearly if you have the time to respond.

    Great video, loved it. As you are using chlorine tablets you should be aware that about 40% of these are actually Cyanuric Acie (aka as stabilizer) I am sure you are aware of. This value climbs and you should keep it below 40 or so. Otherwise your chlorine is less effective. I love the syphon vacuum! Unfortunately my pool deep end is 2.4 meter deep so I have no chance of using it.

      Well you must be a very handsome man lol. J/k... but yeah, this is why I cut my pool store a loose years ago. All they care about is selling you a bunch of crap that you don't need. They are a BUSINESS that needs to keep making $$$ to keep their jobs. Glad my video helped you.

    • @DJ2Legit007
      @DJ2Legit007  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes a pool store will always try to do whatever they can to increase sales. They will try to push so much unnecessary stuff on you because that is their job. That's how they keep a job. This is really all you need right here in my video.

    We have a case of high alkalinity and normal ph, so we do need to check alkalinity, unfortunately, and do the dance between muruatic acid and soda ash. I also learned I need cyanuric acid in order for the chlorine to stay put. Good information here, but I do think it all depends where your water is starting from...

    • @DJ2Legit007
      @DJ2Legit007  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You're welcome. No, always use one chemical at a time and space them out about 3-4 hours so they can properly circulate in your pool before adding the next chemical.

  • @marceloflores7110

    Great video! Would you shock the pool if you were filling it up for the first time? if so would you still use the same chemicals?

    • @DJ2Legit007
      @DJ2Legit007  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks!! Nope. I don't believe in shocking a pool "just because" it has water in it. After filling a pool for the first time, I will test it and see what chemicals it needs and then add the proper chemicals.
