...But does it really make a difference where he's successful? The music stands up for itself. I'm big on US music which hasn't made it here in the UK.... I doesn't change how I feel about it. If anything I love music no one knows about sometimes (greedily). But yes Weller is an absolute gem.
It's startling to hear Tracy Torn voice singing this with Everything But The Girl. Also, their verson uses almost the exact same arrangement, too, but there seem to be more delicate subtleties to the guitar lines. Not saying one is better than the other, but a woman's voice seems to call to the English Rose.
Seen this guy twice, once in Spain at a festival and once in Nottingham which was dedicated. Although some of the music clearly is good, this gentleman is so not interactive. I found both performances totally boring. Sorry just my opinion.
