I'm in Canada and Dollar Tree here sells them 4 for 1.50 .37 cents each i picked up 40 packs flowers, veggies (new for me this year) and herbs. 15.00 for them all you can't beat it. Has it been freezing in your neck of the woods, Kim? It has in mine! I am in North Central MS zone 8a and have been watching the extended forecasts. This week we’re barely getting out of the 30’s and low 40’s for daily highs. This is not my kind of weather! I am not an Eskimo!! Next week 50’s and some 60’s. I have planned to do my winter sowing when you start, but these roller coaster temps have had me a little concerned. I guess I will just throw caution to the wind, since we cannot control the weather! I love zinnias and marigolds. I think my new flowers may be dahlias, forget me nots, cosmos and some sunflowers. Can’t wait for the herbs and veggies video! Take care of yourself! Hope you feel better soon! ~~Lisa
You can use a tomato cage over the 4 o’clock to hold them upright. Also if they are not winter hardy in your area you can dig the tuber and store them like Dahlias.
I got the seeds, made the hole with the wood burning tool, cut all the jugs and now I am ready to start. Oh- I got promix from home depot so the soil medium is ready...🤓🤠💯💥🌿🌺🌻🌼🌱

I love those seeds. My best favorites are 4 O'clocks a lady used to plant her entire corner with them. We used to pick the seeds and throw them at each other. I have the forget me nots, Sweet William, another favorite is Zinnias I love the fluffy ones. I grow sunflowers every year. We like to eat the seeds, and we leave some for the birds. This year I am expanding my flower garden. There is no reason we should spend $5.00 and more for seeds only to get too many seeds that we wind up tossing out. I rather buy 25-50 cents packs and buy them fresh every year. I to, love every one they are all my favorites. Your flowers are stunning you truly have a green thumb. Thanks for sharing.

I grew the Sweet William last year. It took a while, but the colors in that pack were beautiful. I would say think Valentine colors: red, white, pink, bicolor.
I totally love watching all of your videos. That’s the way I am. I live in zone 5 and try out just about everything. That’s how we learn and sometimes get some great surprises 👍

I purchased cherry tomatoes and carrots and French marigolds last week from Dollar tree. I think I’m going to have to go back and get the pink cosmos that you showed!
Do your cosmos keep blooming or do they just bloom once and then die off? Have you found a way to keep your zinnias from getting the black spots/mildew around July or do you plant another round of zinnias?
If you love the blue you should try the Proven Winners Blue my Mind which is a dwarf morning glory. I too love the true blue flowers and the Blue my Mind is fairly drought tolerant so it does well in containers. The flowers are larger and the plant is shorter than the forget me nots and the flowers close later in the day.
I will try the Zennias with you this year. I have the delphiniums in a jug for several weeks and nothing yet. I even had the seeds in the fridge and stuck the container in the fridge. Frustrating.
I went to our Dollar Tree store yesterday morning as soon as they opened at 9:00 a.m. and that's what I went for the Mexican sunflower ours I don't think they brought all the seeds out yet because it was more all vegetables flower I picked up was lavender and that's an herb so I'm going to keep going back every week to check out the seas because honey I want to grow these Mexican sunflowers and watching you and I've been following you for a couple months now I'm going to begin to winter so probably this week we're at the end of January well we got two weeks left and then I'll be good so I live in Circleville Ohio my zone is 6B right now or temperatures are dropping ridiculous it's going to be in the negative in a little bit that is till Wednesday so the snow and the ice we got out here it's going to be around for a while at least it's not on the roads
As far as I know seeds sold as "bi-annuals" are plants that take two years to bloom. The first year they come up but don't bloom. The second year they come back and then they bloom. Some of them are really just annuals that take an extra year to bloom, so they live for about two years and then die. Others can be perennials, so they will come back for years, but also bloom only from year two.
I bought an African daisy last year and it didn’t have many flowers. I heard a few other people say the same thing. It was a pretty plant just not enough blooms for my taste.

The Forget-me-nots (cynoglossum) shown in the video are poisonous and not edible. Mysotis sylvatica are edible. Of course, double check with reputable sources, not the comment section, before eating anything unfamiliar. Common names are confusing and botanical names clarify exactly which plant is which.

My Mexican sunflower does grow 12 ft tall and really wide and blooms till frost in AL, constant butterflies on it

I'm sprouting microgreens from Dollar Tree right now under lights and they've had better germination rates than seeds I ordered from catalogs!
