After experiencing our first kayak tour, we were hooked on kayaking. It was just a matter of time before we pulled the trigger on our own kayaks and that time came sooner than we thought! After a ton of research, we made our choice and waited for them to arrive. After unboxing and setup, we took them out on their maiden voyage off Hilton Head island. We've only used a double sea kayak. We'd like to buy some, but are concerned about flipping over. Do these seem pretty stable? Do they even make a non flip kayak?

Our first kayak experience was a tandem sea kayak, too. Our kayaks are very stable, and we never worry about flipping over. We mostly kayak in calm waters, so unless we do something crazy, we're not tipping over. Our kayaks are not recreational and are not designed for open waters or rapids. As long as you stay away from those waters, you will be fine.

J&G, it's Rich here! Our Wilderness kayaks are probably some of the most stable out there. They sit pretty low in the water, track great and are very easy to get up to speed. We love them. If you dont do anything crazy or take a craft into water it's not meant for, the chances of flipping over are very slim. But there is always a probability, in ANY watercraft...... Happy Holidays!
