Battle Network 6 hitted me the hardest when I was a kid in 8th grade middle school because my parents were going through a divorce and were in the process of moving out of the state. It was then suddenly I was playing a game where I can almost relate to. Of course, that was many decades ago; I've moved on and reconnected with the childhood friends I've left behind.
I loved these games and knew Lan and Mayl liked eachother but don't remember them laying it on this thick. It's adorable. I do remember them getting married at the end of 6 though. It made me happy but sad cause it was the end of the series.
In the Operation Shooting Star extra mission (that was fan translated) there is a lot of Mega x Roll moments, they made him to be way more notoriously in love with Roll in that mission

Everyone’s designs were altered a bit to fit more with the popular tie in anime that was running at the time. The sprites were given a more cartoony look to go alongside these changes.

Meh. I prefer Subaru x Misora from RnR. The ship from that series felt more wholesome compared to the awkward on-and-off relationship dynamic between Netto and Meiru. Meiru actually feels like the mother hen, or responsible older sister in this relationship than a lover.
