    1,4,3,2 or 1,4,2,3 ? Heard both and also noticed on the distributor they have 2 numbers each

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s 1,4,3,2

      Also later on he said 1,4,3,2. This also confirmed the correct connection order is 1,4,3,2 .

      Also, go back to earlier in the video and go full screen before he takes them off. I see 1-4-3-2, but is this the same for a camry? The camry OEM coils are marked 1-4-2-3.

    Thank you very much, I had no idea how to fix P0302 on my 1999 Corolla. I watched this video a few times and then I was able to fix my car the first time around.

    Thanks for the video. My old car (98 with 275k miles) looks like a complete greaseball compared to that nice & clean engine compartment.

    Thank you so much!!!!
    One last question, when i had new spark plugs installed , mechanic put an electric tape on the ceramic portion of the spark plugs and said i can have the tape removed once he puts a valve gasket, it will prevent oil from going to the plugs... Now another mechanic tried to remove the tape, the plugs was all sticky , all the tape was removed but the fourth plug was slipping and the plug wont come out.. If i leave the plug way it is, would it cause any damage? would the tape melt and goin inside the head? that mechanic was stupid... and i dont know what to do... any insight please? also i have noticed when the new mechanic took the tape out, the car runs smoothly...

    I cant get the locking clip off, and you managed to completely obscure, and ignore HOW to do so! Thanks!

      Just pick the locking clip tab from the side of it and it will slide up. The tab is facing the left side of the car.

    I need to replace the ignition coils on my 1999 Corolla in addition to my wires/spark plugs. I see you have a tutorial where you change out the coils on a 99 Camary - do they have the same set up for coils? Would that tutorial work for a Corolla? Great videos, thanks for posting these!

    DUDE!!! You changed the coil cords order on the second pass, 1 3 4 2, first pass you said 1 4 3 2.

      I noticed that right away too. Lol. It's 1 4 3 2. He did it that way in the end.

    I have a 1999 Toyota Corolla. I was told they aren't on the top and my wires look just like that. Are they what you are plugging the wires into (where you're talking about being careful of the order 1,4,3,2)? I was told there are only two. Is that correct? I have a friend doing this for me, but I would just like to know a little info for myself.

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Allison Constant you have the ignition wire style then, make sure to have the wire plugged back into the distributor the same way you removed it. Make sure it's in the correct firing sequence or you will have a misfire.

    yo man, how do you unhook the locking clip, i cant get mine off ... :(

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      you press on the connecting clip part and then pull, it can get stuck on there pretty hard because of that metal piece. Just make sure to press on the clip and then pull or else it won't come out.

    Are there 2 coils on that year Corolla or 1? Good video! Very helpful!

    I've heard the dielectric grease should only be applied inside the boot? not on the coil parts. Thoughts?

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, that is true. We only apply it to the boot.

  • @aldopadilla823
    @aldopadilla823 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    what is the resistance of the wires in ohms.

  • @aznnp77
    @aznnp77 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just did this on a 1998 Chevy Prizm which is basically the same car. Is it normal that the plugs don't make a snap sound when pushing them into the side of the engine? I think I got one of them to snap, but the other 3 I pushed as hard and I could and they wouldn't snap. They appear to be locked into place as I can pull on them hard and they won't come off, but it's a bit concerning that one would snap, and the other 3 wouldn't.

    I like to share my friend's 1998 Corolla History, at 230,000 mileage. The engine light on the dashboard lite up, so I use the Car Code scanner to find the problems. The scanner give us the code is "P0304" (Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected). Since there is no smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. We know there is no problem inside the engine. We changed our first set of Spark Plugs and Ignition wires set. And the problem is solved. Man.........,Toyota part is super durable. If the engine light is not lite up. You don't have to change it. save the money and buy something for your love one.......
    One more thing I have to share. We only use Super Unleaded Gasoline in our car. I know a lot of experts will say you don't have to. But our 230,000 mileage proof that Higher Octane gasoline is really good for the Toyota's engine. There are no engine oil leak and this is the first set of Spark Plugs and Ignition wires set change since the car were bought New. This is the Iron Proof that Super Unleaded Gasoline and Toyota car engine is a perfect match.

    If i have a misfire in cylinders 1&4, and granted it's been a couple years since i've done a tune up on the car, would that possibly be the ignition coil, since the one closest to the front of the car controls 1&4?

      ZanarkandAce check the resistance of each coil and replace the one's that are bad.

    I like your videos. My 2001 Corolla is different like you mentioned. I have coils. Are cars equipped with either wires or coils?

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes its both, but if you have coils, you only replace it if its damaged, the wires, you want to replace it everytime you replace your spark plugs.

    • @sorenduran3308
      @sorenduran3308 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool. I went ahead and replaced my plugs today and my PCV valve. It took forever to unscrew the PCV valve and when i went to go put the new valve on it was hard to find the threading. I finally did, but it was REALLY hard to screw on. not like putting my full body weight on it, but it was harder than usual. Im scared I stripped something, but it seems to be secure and my car is running fine...

    Where are the ignition coils on this model located?

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Allison Constant this is the cap and rotor style. If it was the ignition coil style, it would be right ontop of the spark plugs where the ignition wires are in this video.

      As long as you pull them and they don’t come off, it’s all good.

      @slowgoat6089 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      NutzAboutBolts im talking about the part where you plug them into the 2 coil packs, only one clicked, the other three i pushed as hard as could but no click.

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Clit Commander it’s a snap on style, if you pushed it in and pull it up and it doesn’t come off, it snapped in fine.

    First he said 1,4,3,2. Second time he said 1,3,4,2. Damn. So you know, I just connected it as 1,4,3,2 and it ran perfectly. Then I swapped it up and connected it as 1,3,4,2 and then it miss fired rough idling. So, 1,4,3,2 is the correct order to connect the wires to the ignition.

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah our bad. We pinned the correct firing order comment.
