I was considering doing the same thing to the seams on my 68 cab as well. But, I also saw some things about how they used to lead in the seams at the factory. I thought I might look into doing that a bit more and weigh the options. I wanted to shave the drip rails as well, but I think the amount of work vs the return isn't worth it to me. I have a lot of work on that cab to do as well. I haven't found the source yet, but I'm getting water dripping into the cab from somewhere up front. Can't tell if it originates from the drip rail, or behind the cowl vents. Nice to see you back at it!
There was defiantly no lead anywhere in the sheet metal that I have found yet, I'd have said something. I didn't start out doing the seam filling, but the seam was so close to the crack and I got carried away. Believe me, I was mad at myself after I started. I have a buddy that shaved the drip rails and welded back a piece of 1/4 round bar and smoothed it in. It looks sick! But I am trying to drive in a few months. As far as the water, there are a LOT of places it could be coming from. I would spray the front with a hose and use a paper towel on the inside to see where it gets wet. Just an idea.
I thought about that but I was afraid the stripper would eat the plastic. But good to know, this was a first foe me. I'll definitely do that in the future, because that sucked. I appreciate the tip! Thank you.

I like the music man. Nice touch
Haha thanks, I needed to step it up a notch. Thanks for the advice.
Looking good! Thanks for sharing.
As always, thanks for watching! Finally coming together, or at least I keep telling myself that...
That is going to be very nice surface when you get some paint on there, every figure out what that orange coloring was?
I think it was rust. I believe the paint stripper made the metal rust faster than usual.
Take a plastic bag and put it over the paint remover, it speeds up the process
