Wow! I know this is an old video and no one will see my comment but geez! What craftsmanship! Perfectionism at its finest! But let's give credit where credit is due! The patience that horse had?! omg! He/she , at one point, even lifted her foot before you even touched it! Hah! Made me smile! Hats off to the both of you! Well executed
I’ve watched tons of shoeing videos and the blacksmithing part of it never made sense to me until THIS video. Seeing it made from the straight bar all the way through to the end answered a lot of questions.

Does the firing of hoof help to make it a little hard for longer period between shoeing or for holding the nails I was a groom on the racetrack here in Florida and used to hold horses for the black smith but never saw work like that but mostly race horses and some pony horses so it was a lot of aluminum shoes nicely done it’s very nice to see craftsmanship like that don’t see much of it these days thanks for sharing
I love seeing a shoe being hand crafted by a master craftsman. Beautiful piece of work.

i truly enjoy your craft....but i hate to ask such a mundane question: what kind of shoes do you wear? they look very comfortable....
You did such an amazing job. And it was also kinda satisfying so great job.
I understand that it doesn’t hurt the horse to do this but… I’m so nervous for this guy’s nuts. Otherwise, amazing job and the hoof looks beautiful
Straight dope 😎 , sweet work
Just curious but, do you tap the anvil when you start to start? Like the way the old Ford T had to be wound up before it could go? 😄
It will lift the hammer for you when you hit the anvil first. By doing this you help save your body.
Heh. That hot metal actually being on FIRE!, has, I think, answered ALL my questions!

Usually the horses don’t feel it or something
Nice job !!!
Sweet work! Who makes that clipping hammer?
Thanks. The hammer is a Yukon Forge
What is the powder used when joining the metal to form the bar across the back of the shoe?
It is flux to clean and prepare the weld
This is very good 👍🏽
Great job. Respect.👍 Greetings from Denmark.
