Eight years ago I bought a Percheron gelding to work on our farm. That horse obviously had been force-shod, one could see the rope burns on the hind legs for several years. It took me six months of daily patient handling for him to give his feet willingly. After that time he lifted any foot just at the command 'foot'. It's a courtesy of the horse owner towards the farrier to train the horse well. My son is my farrier.
@@caleberickson_The_Dying_Breed My son has been shoeing for 28 years. He lives in Kansas City, MO. Yes, big horses are "so cool". Our Percherons weigh 2400, respectively 2500 pounds. You do not want to fight with a horse like that, you want to have him as a willing partner.
@denisehelm2039 Now as far as I'm concerned you have no business commenting on this professional's work because you clearly have no information on what a farrier does. Very ignorant comment.
Can you post long videos please ? 10 - 15 mins videos or longer arent that bad, since you are already taping. You will improve your viewership. Also, might make some money if you get enough views with 10 mins or longer videos.
I'm trying to do longer videos lately. I've been getting around 5 minutes or so. It's tough when I film by myself. I miss some of the process as I can't do both film. And work
@@caleberickson_The_Dying_Breed do you use go pro, because I know farriers that tie go pro to their head, and use their phones to see if the camera angle is right.
Wow! I am shocked that the owner has taken such poor care of this animal. The horse is NOT comfortable and shows it. Did you notice when she looked back?
I AM a Farrier and grinders are not ok to use on horses feet!! You use knifes, and hoofnippers plus hoofrasps. Grinders are only used on cows, that s a way different animal to trim the claws of.
I have never owned a horse let alone dealt with ones feet and I don't need to since logic alone tells me that the faster youre able to work the less stress you put on the horse, and I imagine that's both physically and mentally.... Second point, where was the horse treat badly? What a shitty comment.
Treated the horse badly? Based on what? The horse was just having a moment and the Farrier was firm and patient. If you noticed the horse settled down and all went well. I have trimmed hooves and horses will test you.

That's awesome those big horse are so cool. How long has your son been a farrier and where does he shoe out of

Nope doesn't hurt at all
“Hey u booger.” Got me laughing on the floor. 😂😪
Question: when horns are this over grown, would it be easier to use an electric hoof trimmer?
Less control
Geç kalınmış bir bakım
Wow, that's what I call a neglected hoof, should've been shod months ago. 🐎
Now as far as I'm concerned this guy has no business sodding a horse . Very poor workmanship. NO hospitality towards the horse whatsoever.

Bad humored ferrier!
How come they are allowed to get in such bad shape
Why not use a grinder to save time the horse is hanging there! cheers

This guy is NOT a well trained Ferrier if one at all! Find a person who does the best job to care for this animal's needs!!
Learn to spell farrier first lol and I'm going to assume by your 2 comments you know nothing about horses
Why u cut it off don't understand
This is NOT job for you 😞 Why do you treat that horse so badly? Why do you rush?
I'm going to say that you have zero experience with horses

Wtf??? 🤣
This comment didn’t go the way they expected it to…I’m still waiting on the part of the video where the horse was treated badly?
