I love this video. My husband took me fishing on Sunday. I got my PB large mouth, 24". Also, caught an abundance of panfish. Was a great day. Loved seeing Houston & Emily in the videos again. Emily reminds me of myself 40 yrs ago, LOL. Oh yeah, caught the same snapping turtle twice. Felt like I was pulling a T-Rex out of the pond. I caught him on 6lb. Fishing line. I still have all my fingers, and was able to get the hook out of his mouth both times. He managed to break my big net though. Have a great one! Love ya all! God Bless!

I lve in farmland area..It can be peaceful and it can be as noisy as the city. I lived in the mountains and it was so quite inless an owl lives ny or a lumber company working nearby.

My dad and his golfing buddies had a yearly trip to the river for bullheads. Big fishfry. On the year it was dad's turn to host, mom took all of us kids to the movies (so she didn't have to cook). Dad, knowing I loved fish, saved me some and I loved it.

I grew up doing what your kids are doing, in part anyway. All my summers were spent at the campground my parents friend owned along with weekends when school was in. 4 hour drive there and 4 back. I was the one who was the frog catcher, my brother couldn't catch a frog if his life depended on it. I would also go fishing for frogs at night. You could use a micro pole/branch or just a line with a simple hook and a piece of worm. I had lots of nights doing that if I wasn't around the camp fire for a fish fry. Best times of my life. I didn't realise until later how blessed I was to experience that kind of life, it was normal to me growing up. We catch bullhead up here too, they were good if you didn't have much luck on the lake for walleye/pike/bass/etc. Stay safe!!! 😊💖
We used to stay up at night just to catch the bull head.next day we would have a big fish fry when we were camping at the lake.. dad would put a lantern by the water with tin foil on one side of it so all the light reflected on water . Bullhead are attracted to it. Miss those days of simple family fun
People around here in northern NY go bullhead fishing all the time. Bring a camp chair, build a fire next to the shore and set up. You bait your pole, cast it out and set it into a forked stick, and attach a little bell to the rod tip. Then you sit back, sip a beverage and b.s. with your fishing partners until you hear the bell. Then you go reel in the bullhead. They taste good on their own, but you can soak the fillets in milk for a while to mellow out the taste if you want to. (And p.s.-- there may be quite a few little fisher people enter this world as a result of their mom & dad going on a midnight bullhead fishing trip!)

My daughter loved all that especially when everyone else was afraid at 4H camp. She loved hunting trap shooting and shot on the state hi power rifle team. I am very proud of her she is now a Pharmacist.

I live on the Mississippi River and my brothwrs are commercial fisherman. We have some pretty large flat head catfish and they are sooo good. Especially the belly meat. We had some walleye the other night... caught, cleaned and cooked!!
Emily reminds me of my granddaughter & my youngest daughter with the frogs, they were always trying to catch them. Huston remind me of me & my siblings, we always bringing back real small bullheads. But mom would fry them up for us, she would fry them really crispy we could eat bones & all. I got mine started fishing on bluegills and bullheads now they are addicted to flathead fishing using bluegills and bullheads as bait especially my 8yr old son
In northern New York we eat bull heads all the time. We even have a special season for fishing for them. The smaller ones taste the best and our VFW and ELKS clubs have Friday Bullhead fish fries 🍽
One of my favorite childhood memories is of my mom taking us to the creek with her soup ladle to catch tadpoles. We took them home and put them in a bowl on the kitchen table. Watched them turn into frogs.
I grew up next to a creak. My brothers and I could get anywhere in town through the dif channels. We spent probably four years of combined trips in that creak. Catching trout, steelheads and tree frogs. Further down we’d catch craw dads over 5 inches long! I laughed years later when the city re did the creaks to make for better tourism and the “ritzy restaurants that popped up along that same creak selling mini “ lobsters. They probably caught out of that creak! It’s true you can’t go home again!

I'm single father of two lil girls 7 n 9 n they both will catch frogs we fish 2 to 4 times a week n they just like Houston they want to eat everything we catch we trying to get to build a homestead to but we're broke but we love watching u guys
After you catch a bunch of bullheads, clean them and put them in a bowl of clean water in the fridge overnight and it cleans the dirt out of the meat. Then cook them and they're great.
I watch a lot of fishing channels and one I really like does buuhead fish fries all the time The dude says I'm not much of a fish eater but loves bullhead I'm definitely going to try them now

I love catfish. We put them in a airated barrel for at least 8hrs. So good beer batter or fine corn meal and corn flakes batter and fried.

I'm single father of two lil girls 7 n 9 n they both will catch frogs we fish 2 to 4 times a week n they just like Houston they want to eat everything we catch we trying to get to build a homestead to but we're broke but we love watching u guys
After you catch a bunch of bullheads, clean them and put them in a bowl of clean water in the fridge overnight and it cleans the dirt out of the meat. Then cook them and they're great.

Up north here in Wisconsin we call them just bullhead. People fish for them all the time.
I watch a lot of fishing channels and one I really like does buuhead fish fries all the time

Town next to mine has a bullhead festival every summer. Grew up catching them on the dam and skinning them. Cool water helps with the taste

I'd like to tell you all about our Bullheads. We have eaten so many, it's almost embarrassing. They are plentiful & when fixed right, they are downright delicious. My Mammy used to cut the mud vein out & they were amazing! Everybody should give em a try.
