  • Keep your yard looking clean and beautiful. If your mower deck is not level you will end up with ugly lines all over your yard from uneven grass heights. Here’s how to level the mower deck on a Craftsman LT1750 lawn tractor. This design is sold under many different manufacturers and models, so hopefully this video can help you out.

To truly have a level cut left to right, you must measure from blade tip to garage floor ,you can’t get more accurate than that!!!

Unless you have a bent deck or warped blades, this method will get you pretty close. Thanks for watching!

I use blade tip measurements also. Skirt could be different.

I have found that since I can't see the left blade tip on mine, I set a bevel guage to the height of the right blade tip where I can see it thru the discharge chute, and by feel, adjust the left side to match. Pretty easy and accurate.....subscribed

I was thinking those bolts adjusted the back of deck. Two bolts inside front wheels raise or lower front. If you only adjust those two you worked with the blades may be much closer in front than back.
Open grass chute and turn blade direction front/back, measure distance between blade at front with ground then measure back the same. Only adjusting those two bolts will leave all the cut force on blades when circling front because the back will be too high, in most cases.

...I feel it would be better to just leave the tires equally under-inflated. I inflated my tires and it makes it harder to mow in some cases because the tires slip more easily.

Do you know the name/number of the bar that attaches the forward end of the deck to the forward end of the chassis? I am missing that piece and it hurts a lot because I have a floating deck with no wheels.

@@elijaha773 Each mowers' part number is different, but from what I can find, I believe it is called a Deck Link.

Equal is the main thing. As long as they are the same you should be good. If one is higher/lower when you level it, then adjust the pressures later to match, it will be off again. I can see lower pressures helping though. It will give a softer ride too!

I try to keep my videos simple and tool selection simple to show people that you don't need a massive tool collection to do most repairs. But I do have box end wrenches, sockets, and air tools at my disposal. Thanks for watching!

So did you adjust deck height to 0 then raise the blades first or did you set the deck height to 2.25 then adjust to that? Just wondering if the cut height meter on the mower is right after adjustment or how you set that.. might be different setup but my craftsman has a height adjust knob and the deck raise n lower lever...

I raised the deck up so the wheels on the deck were off the ground and floating. The initial height is not too important as long as you can make both sides the same.

You also have a rear axle badly out of level tilting the whole mower.

Think you could get better measurements with just a 6 inch ruler.

A short ruler would definitely work also. But I only had a measuring tape on hand.
