Everyone seems to get the Pro-7's but, for the price? I couldn't do. Wanted Heil, cloth pads, over the ears, (somewhat) affordable price that wasn't half what a radio would run me. Just received, went looking for some vids to learn more before plugging in. Hopeful I will love them as I tried a friend's Heil BM-17 model and thought they were fantastic. I had never used a headset before, couldn't believe the different. Only thing was, those sit more "on" the ears than over/around. My family is gonna be SO GLAD I've added a headset now.
I think it would work just fine, I have used it on just about every kenwood rig from TS-440S (my first modern rig) up to my current TS-890S…. With a lot of others in between…
I have one of these and it won't work on my 7610,,, I bought the IC version with the correct adaptor and all I seem to get is very bad RF in the audio. When I switch to the stock handmic, the RF is gone. Another strange thing is that when I try and use the headset, if I touch something metallic, such as my RCS 8V coax switch, it reduces the amount of RF in the audio. Any ideas?
I don’t currently own an ICOM rig, but probably will before the end of the year. I understand that icoms require a different element in the heil mics/headphones. Give heil customer service and they should be able to tell you what you need to do.
@@ND3N Common Problem. There are issues using the Heil headset with Icom 7610 and 7300. The IC Element will eventually result in a hum and distortion. Heil is aware and they will recommend you switch to a dynamic headset vs IC however you will need a capacitance blocking adapter. Call Heil. They are great people and will help you out.
Great show today Tom. Ludlow Creek says thanks!
Thanks Dave... I hope that you get a bit more interest on your site...
