    Thanks for sharing!!! My grandmother made sweet potato bread but no one knows her recipe. Everyone adds eggs but I didn’t see her put any eggs in her recipe. Are eggs optional?

    • @georgiacookingforthesoul

      You are so welcome, but yes, baby, you add eggs if you like. But I prefer not to have eggs in mine. But all the other ingredients are needed.

    Was milk or eggs added? You came back with a wet mixture before you added the butter. I would like to make it

    • @georgiacookingforthesoul
      @georgiacookingforthesoul  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Okay Lynette, I don't add eggs to my potato bread, sometime if the mixture is thick it's okay to add a little milk. My recipe consist of 3 Large Sweet potatoes amount depends on how much you want, two and half cups sugar, one stick of butter, two heaping tablespoons of self-rising flour, tablespoon of cinnamon and one teaspoon of vanilla extract, or cake batter extract or lemon extract. Mix it all together and bake at 375 degrees until brown lightly. ENJOY!!!

    Nutneg?

  • @davidadausuel4537
    @davidadausuel4537 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I must say, that ,that is more like a crust less pie than bread. It has the texture of pie/pudding instead of bread. Your ratio of flour to sweet potato was off.

    • @georgiacookingforthesoul
      @georgiacookingforthesoul  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don't cook my potato bread with all that flour in it like a damn cake. The different in my potato bread from a pie is that I don't have mine in a pie shell, and the reason for that I don't like the pie crust.

      In the south that's how they made it. except mama used eggs but she always said not to use a lot of flour. I'm in my 60's and that's how I make it. I use nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon, eggs and a little can milk. mama didn't use milk and another video didn't use cinnamon. I'm kind of lost without the cinnamon. But like you said each its own. I love mines the color of yours too. I even like it a little burnt.😂

    A huge amount of sugar. Why don't you just call it what it is, sweet potato cake 🎂.

    • @georgiacookingforthesoul
      @georgiacookingforthesoul  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's sweet potato bread. When you make one call it, whatever you like and add the amount of sugar you like, and I will add what I like and call it what I want to call it.
