Hey John, the snorkel and front bar are already paid for, we had delays with covid getting stock. Due to be installed in 4 weeks. The OTT and Cape wasn’t on the list to do this year so we were not prepared for the OTT like we’d want to be but did what we could! We’ll be back next year for another go 💪🏻 thanks for tuning in 🥰

Sounds like you’ll be in for an eventful trip! When looking at the tracks from the top, the far right was definitely the easiest of the three but then again, things can change with weather etc.. I actually was brought up on a 4x4 park my dad owned (Sian) and spotting/photography used to be my role during guided 4x4 tours and tough truck/tough track comps. I feel at home there and I’m not too bad at it so may as well carry on doing what I know. Thank you though! ☺️💁🏼♀️

If we had that front bar we’d be on it, we love stuff like this when you’ve got the right gear. The track didn’t scare us, just the lack of correct gear to do it 😔 damn covid delays

We were averaging 27.7L per 100km at the Cape. Keeping in mind this was towing, fully loaded with weeks of shopping at a time and all tanks of water full on dirt and corrugation. We now average around 23-25L per 100km in general towing conditions. :)
Some great footage there guys, nicely put together, great song choice again at 24:00 , was it just me or did the Landcruiser make those tracks look easy 😂😂👍 ( Landcrusier owner here)

Sometimes, but 91 is sufficient! We run 91 over any other fuel and it performs just as well. We were told by Nissan in the very beginning that it would be okay to do so and it always has been 😁😁
No judgement here, if your setup isn’t right for it, it’s just not right and there’s no shame in making a smart choice. ☺️We will probably go back next year and have a go when we have the front bar on but until then... we looked at it at least 😜
I just towed my new van from Gold Coast to Emerald appprox 950klms, ATM 2450kg so is a bit lighter than u guys but I got 18L/100 with my 2015 Landcruiser 200 pretty happy with that, should do even better once I get the intake cleaned and lock up kit and trans remap 👍

Hey Trent, we have a rode mic, dead kittens, Sara monic wireless mics, lav mics and the GoPro media mod... we had issues with sound back in the day trust me! Our sound is pretty good I thought and we don’t get complaints now?? Editing videos is hard work but sound engineering is next level but we mastered some of it. What episodes are you watching? If they are the older episodes I’d say it’s related to that. If it’s new, try watching on another device. We watch our shows on laptop phone and TV to test the sound nowadays. :) Thanks for watching mate! 🥰
@@BigOzExplorers watching this episode and the last few always on our bedroom TV which admittedly doesn't have the best audio quality, but the volume issues seem to be worse on your videos than other channels that we watch. What software are you editing with, Adobe premiere Pro has some great features for normalising the audio levels across multiple different sources as well as the ability to export particular sound clips to Audition to do more advanced noise cancelling filters. Keep up the good work though, can't wait to see some more adventures in the Y62 🤙
@@TrentCain I use premiere pro, haven’t played with audition before (uncharted territory!) I do use dynamics, compressor, limiter etc but it seems you know your stuff and that’s probably why your picking up on it more than the average Joe. 😉 I’ll keep working on it where I can but being one person with a family and trying to travel and still enjoy it, you know how much time editing can take I’m sure. I had no training pre leaving (and if you go back to the beginning even I know I have improved lol!)... I’ll end up doing a course at some stage to advance further again I’d say 🤙🏻

Seriously that Nissan Patrol has barely any lift and Zero Wheel clearance. No bullbar or bashplate. What a way to ruin a new nissan. Apart from that good video.
We drove away unscathed, a little bumper damage (but that doesn’t matter as it’s being swapped for a bar in 2 weeks!) if anything this car was a bloody weapon considering the little work it had done, we took it through what Nissan claims it can do stock, and it actually performed! 🙌🏻 Thanks for watching! 😁🤙🏻
Here's a tip..get some barwork, bash plates, snorkel, get the tyre off the roof rack etc... and then tackle 4WD tracks. Seems like you guys are noobs at 4WD'ing.. lol !

You can leave the Cape but the Cape never leaves you lol... That red dust is impossible to totally eradicate!

I suspect fuel usage will be in a similar ballpark to a 200 series Toyota.

31:20 yeah, thats not gunshot. I did it a dozen times or so and gunshot has no vegetation growth either side.

Seriously that Nissan Patrol has barely any lift and Zero Wheel clearance. No bullbar or bashplate. What a way to ruin a new nissan.

We drove away unscathed, a little bumper damage (but that doesn’t matter as it’s being swapped for a bar in 2 weeks!) if anything this car was a bloody weapon considering the little work it had done, we took it through what Nissan claims it can do stock, and it actually performed! 🙌🏻 Thanks for watching! 😁🤙🏻

We made it everywhere and never needed it 🤪 covid held our gear up unfortunately and this trip was short planned!
We did it solo in 2013 towing a camper trailer and never used the winch. Palm Creek would be the only crossing that a winch maybe needed

Here's a tip..get some barwork, bash plates, snorkel, get the tyre off the roof rack etc... and then tackle 4WD tracks. Seems like you guys are noobs at 4WD'ing.. lol !
