This is a wonderfully thorough look at the trail! I'm looking forward to heading out there soon - hammocking, with a similar setup - and I appreciate all the detail you've included!

I'd like to do the trail. The potential difficulty of finding water makes me hesitant because I have only backpacked in areas where there was plenty of water.

It was particularly dry when I did this video. In the spring, when it rains, there are little streams that run. You can always get water on this trail though. The first part of the trail follows the lake and you might have to bushwhack your way to it. The second half of the trail follows the river. There are a few places where the trail meets the river. The map at the trailheads is a very good guide. I'd say you can always get water at mile markers 1-3 (lake), 6 with some bushwhacking, 10 (usually a stream or pool), 11 (river), 12.5-13.5 (river), 14.5 (river). You can also cache water at 3.5 and 9.5, maybe at 12.5 or 7.5 if you have an off-road vehicle.

Hello! You seem very knowledgeable about this trail! Can you tell me if there are any campsites on the trail near the 10 mile mark that are suitable for a group with 3-4 tents? Would love to be near water or to water cache at the parking lot near mile 9.5. Or other recommendations?

Yes, there is a great area right after the 10 mile mark where you cross a stream. There are multiple camping areas that I've stayed at there, large enough for several tents. The water there is usually reliable but the trail was pretty dry when I was out last, although there has been some recent rain. Also, if it's still standing, there's a pretty cool rock table hidden up in the trees in that area. Thanks for watching!

Is the 10 mile mark the first camping area? Also is the water source a flowing creek? Such a pretty trail! I want to try it this spring

I assume you're asking from the 9.5 parking lot. There's actually a spot just west of the lot and south of the trail where you could car-camp. On-trail, I think you could camp a little sooner than 10 but the spot at 10 is pretty nice and USUALLY has flowing water. I have seen it dry before and don't know the current conditions out there. Even when no water, there's usually some pooled up, further up stream. If you have a vehicle or water cache at the 9.5, it's only about a 12 minute walk to the parking lot. I will probably do a more detailed video of this full trail at some point with information about known campsites.
