  • In this video, we’re going to look at how to remove unwanted objects from a photo using the tools in Affinity Photo. This is a common task for photographers, which becomes much easier when you know a few simple “secrets”.
    The video demonstrates how to make repairs to photos using the tools in Affinity Photo. We cover the Healing Brush, Inpainting Brush and Patch Tools. You will see some of the limitations of these tools as well as learning a technique to deal with removing large and complex objects.
    If you want to try the example on a copy of the image, you can download it from this page of my website: lenscraft.co.uk/learn-photo-e...

    Good grief I wish I had found this BEFORE I pulled all my hair out in fits of frustration.....sigh... but NOW I know about you!!! AND I am your newest subscriber!! You make it very easy to understand things. Tip of the hat to you Mr W!

      Thank you. Yes, some of the tools can be frustrating but once you grasp a few fundamentals they become much easier and you just need practice.

    Great video. I find that the in-painting brush works best with a hard brush and reasonably careful selection. Particularly for the complex removal situations.

    Separately, I must say though that I was *very disappointed* last time I visited Pisa.
    Contrary to all the hype, this tower is NOT leaning at all; it's *perfectly straight* , and instead it's the *entire rest of Pisa* that is on an incline over to the left.
    Also, while exiting the 'plane at Galileo Galilei Airport, the heel of my right shoe got completely shredded in the air-bridge.

    You could have used the clone stamp tool for the bottom of the tower. Followed by a selection and fill with the 'inpaint' function.

    • @RobinWhalley
      @RobinWhalley  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I could have used a lot of different tool as well as combining them in different ways.

      Thank you. I am working on a course for Affinity and will get underway properly with it in the New Year. I want to develop it to accompany my Affinity Photo book as quite a few people have asked for one.

    What are you pressing to get multiple duplicates of the window?

    • @RobinWhalley
      @RobinWhalley  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm just clicking with the mouse. When you set the options in the patch tool to use the selection as a source, each time you click with your mouse it creates a duplicate of the selection.

    Hi robin...i emailed you seeking ALL the files for affinity associated with your ebook i also purchased previously.. Heard nothing back from your website/members area. Just went to you webpage again to seek the image of the tower of Pisa..again not logically visible.. shows links to other downloads..but NOT this one or ones displayed on tutorials from your ebook??

      @RobinWhalley  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Michael, I checked and I haven't received your email. When did you send it and was it to my email robin@lenscraft.co.uk?
      I will check again. The page to download the files for the book is listed under the "Books" menu as "Downloads for Books". The direct link to the page is lenscraft.co.uk/learn-photo-editing-books/useful-downloads-books/ Scroll down the page and the first book you come to is "Essential Affinity Photo". Click the button that says "Download". This opens a new browser tab with the file in it. It's a single ZIP file containing all the images for the book. The one used in the video is called "Develop Persona.dng". It's a RAW file so you will need to convert it first. If you still have problems, try to email me again. I can share the file over Dropbox with you.
