I switched to all TPE plastics simply because of cost. A pack of 10 tpe neds for $3.99 can catch 200+ fish. That's serious savings for a budget angler. Fished a whole 2 day tourny with one bait, and still using it. The softness ups my hookups too. Glad to see other companies getting into the mix.

You mentioning the other brands who came out with a style of bait first (OSP) is just great. Major respect, Jacob. Other guys like Ike and Zaldain will act like they invented the wheel. (see: a lot of Berkley baits and the Bass Mafia Magdraft copy).

I have jars of "smelly Jelly" I got from Tackle Warehouse. It is about $8.50 per jar. It stinks to high heaven. I put a little on my worm or soft bait. The bass will not turn it lose. They love it. Not my idea. I learned it from a Kentucky bass fisherman years ago. It is pink flake glitter. Try it.

It would be "ethical" if they licensed these baits instead of just knocking them off. These small family run bait companies deserve more respect than this from Rapala and their pro staff💯

I was kinda ticked about the bronco, especially with all of the direct knockoffs that berkely pumps out every year and that spro has done the past 2 years. However, after you gave the shoutout to OSP and explained the reasoning and more of an inspiration than knockoff, I get it. I burn through so many of them flipping/pitching and if the veg is thick they don't hold up punching at all, even without catching a fish. Respect dude and lesson learned, don't be so quick to judge a book by its cover. Question, on a free rig or unpegged t-rig, will the bronco fall horizontally after the weight stops pulling it? Also, dude when you gonna team up with Shimano? You're the face of bass fishing and it seems like any company would love to have you on their team.

I really hope y'all partnered with the smaller Japanese bait companies and didn't just knock off their baits.
They didn't, they ripped it off. Wheeler make a video with rapala about all his time on the water and trial/error to get the lure right and how innovative it is.... what a crock.
Iaconneli did the same crap with the Nessie and the Flag... saying how he's never seen something innovative like the Nessie and how much time he put into the RnD, and that their nothing out there quite like it.

You can only come up with so many different kinds of baits. Of course lots of different companies look alike. Will always be like that. The difference is quality and how dialed in it is from factory.
@@1080760 This is such a dumb take to have when a ginormous American bait company launches a whole line of baits they knocked off from small bait companies who are actually innovative. Rapala knocked off the DoLive Beaver and the Spunk Shad. Missile Baits licensed the spunk shad from Hog Farmer, because they have integrity unlike Rapala and their pro staff. Big fishing corporations stealing intellectual property from mom and pop operations is not OK.

@Wheeler Fishing, I was watching a podcast earlier today that an elite series angler does, they were saying that you and others had failed polygraphs since you had been fishing MLF. I just wish y’all and the elite series would come together and air things out, just for the simple fact that guys like me are so tired of hearing bad news for both leagues! I follow both sides because I love bass fishing and I want to start doing some tournament fishing, but I get so turned off by all the negativity from both sides. I would have to agree with them that Cayuga was a flat out shit show for MLF and tournament fishing in general! I follow your channel along with the rest of the gang, and wish y’all would do a podcast about the split and clear the air!
How does the Freeloader differ from a Spunk Shad? Not being a smartass, I'm genuinely curious...
Looks like it has a slightly shorter tail which may lean more towards the jigging side whereas the spunk shad has a longer tail to mimic more of a swimming action to be used as a trailer.

Shorter tail, flat sides that allows it to roll when fishing it on a jig head. It’s more of a fluke style bait than a kietech body

I wish people would grow up with the knock off crap already, you're not going to find new baits these days that weren't influenced by another bait.
The issue is some people pay homage to the companies that inspire their design and some just rip the design and claim innovation (Berkeley)
I heard in a Cayuga lake podcast, where cheaters were discussed. No we. Mark Daniels caught two fish that weighed the same in one day. I am sure that Adrian did the same on championship day. .You guys are catching the same fish everyday %, while not illegal it is wron. They mentioned that MLF`~s greatest angler constantly cheats but gets away because of his sponsors. Jacob are they talking about you.
