While playing Dome Keeper and taking on the Defective Weapon Guild Assignment on the Challenge difficulty, we came across a funny coincidence that with just the right setup, the attacking wave will never end, allowing me to farm the entire map while only having to deal with rare hits. This allowed me to farm every ressource on the map and finish the run in a glorious final fight that we definitely won.

This is the first video I edited with Davinci Resolve instead of my usual Filmora Wondershare. I noticed the sound has finally accurate volume in the editor compared to the output, though I don't know how to use the same features I used in Filmora, so special effects will be a problem and god was the zooming in painful to do, as well as cutting the tracks. But yea, will just take time, never used it before, definitely a great software

Davinci resolve is pretty amazing for what you pay for it!

As someone who transitioned from shotcut to da vinci resolve, it is one hell of a learning curve. However, this vid looks really good, and the zooming and whatnot will get easier with time :) remember to use key frames, they make everything easier!

Drillbert is afraid when the dome is under attack, that's why he is shivering.
I'd never actually seen Drillbert's scared animation since that would generally involve dying to your dome being under attack without you present, but this just happened to be an automated defense build.
@29:00 For the sake of knowledge, the bottom row of Drone upgrades is their "Overcharge" like the Shield's. You need to spend 1 Water to activate it per wave (clicking the drone hub on the top left of your dome). That's also what the Condenser supplement was about, permanently feeding the Overcharge.
This short lasting battle drones are quite bad. Yes, they can be usefull in early game, but later they are just falling behind long lasting ones.
You only need drones for early game, long lasting drones just take way too long to even reach the cap and at that point everything is dead, pooping out all the drones instantly so they can clean up all the trash that spawns is imo much better.
Yeah, the Quick Drones are great for everything except the final wave. You'd also want to get Projectile Split instead of the Energy Trap for the spire, just so that you could have had extra damage going out in this challenge.
Auto Overcharger supplement with the combat drones is amazing! get all three levels of overcharge upgrades for the drones which only costs Iron, and watch your skies fill with drones every round!
oooh. interesting idea. I personally think that the missile silo with the recharging supplement are quite OP just watch as most of the enemies are eviscerated. and they are very powerful too with max out damage and capacity.
@15:10 Your Drones didn't bug, the Quick Drones just only fire 10 shots at enemies in range then they're done.
This can be especially terrible against the little explodey dudes who come in large swarms.
My understanding is that if a wave goes on too long, they have added the spawning of more monsters. This was recent though, so it depends on when this was recorded.

They remove the anti-sall for specific scenarios where you don't have a main weapon, like this one!
@@AaronTyska Yep, apparently the anti stall kept triggering on this challenge even if you werent stalling so they disabled it. Laser stalling doesnt work on other challenges.

Yeah, I'm certain they're either going to fix this *or* introduce a time stop gadget as a result of your shenanigans.
They already did fix this. There is an anti-stall mechanic in where if you stall the eave for too long the next will spawn. HOWEVER! For scenarios like this one where you don't have a main weapon and must use other means to win, the anti-stall mechanic is removed. Thus, Dex was able to win without finishing the wave.

@@AaronTyska what ? i'm still locking every game and nothing spawn, it's just that the next wave is like if the time wasn't stopped , so if i lock the game at wave 5 and by the time i unlock it it should be the wave 25 the wave 6 that pop after is like the 25th wave,
Ok so this confirmed something that I thought was true after trying the drones a few times...
They're great in the early game, but utter trash later on. Early on, there are few resources to carry and few enemies to fight, so they can easily manage that. But later, the transport just doesn't keep up when they have long distances to travel and the combat drones just get worn out too easily.
I think any of the other choices are better. I usually just pick the shield as a "always at least does something" option.
Wonder when Dex will realise the resource packer is broken, and just with a little bit more carrying capacity. I imagine if you pack the iron the drones can carry them as well, just like the elevator does.
He is not sleeping he is just scared because the monsters/enemies are attacking 9:40

@ 28:49 Chambers are all the "rooms" that have Gadgets, Supplements ans the main relic, if you would have picked that, it would have shown you if one of those 3 was nearby
Drillbert isn't too great, but neither are any of the "cellar gadgets". I'd say the condenser, resource converter, and iron worms are the only really useful ones of those. Maybe the furnace, I don't remember much about that one.
Stalling a wave is definitely a valid strategy in this game. I think it might be required in some of the harder challenges... It IS mitigated by the fact that many things are on a "wave progression" counter - for example, you won't condense any water until the wave bar increases.
edit: I was sure the stun laser did deal damage (like 1 damage or something), but I guess it doesn't. It just kills the ticks anyways.

With the ironworms gadget; while the diligent worms are usually what everyone goes for the fast worms are great if you have really fast moving drones to collect everything extremely quickly
When you're digging your 3 thick areas, you should hit a dimple above yourself every now and then to spot resources in corners. It essentially turns those 3 thick areas into 2 thick.
Oh no Dex has tasted the forbidden fruit. Im sure after this he will see this game with different purpose in mind XD

btw, missile silo is quite OP. In my opinion, one of the best gadgets, especially if you get the supplement for it to recharge over time during a wave. you have to try it out
Focus drone speed once you have 4 drones, they get really face once you max their speed

25:53 yes you basically can. Ive done almost all the challenge runs using that tactic.
My guess is the guy accidentally went negative in health when a drone tick and the stun tick procced at the same time, so he then became immortal and the drones recognized it as dead. Because otherwise they'd keep attacking but the only thing keeping them on is the wave. Another idea is that enemies which are bound to the dome aren't reachable by drones, say the teleporter or wasps for example, or that gorilla himself, so if that's the key then they are the ones to keep alive, but it would require precision so maybe tesla domes are best for the setup since you can skip over enemies to reach with your attack. My conclusion is maybe tesla dome + stun + gorilla enemy is the key.
Picking Condenser and not even upgrading, especially with drones.

asking again to show how Good/Bad the driling rig is fully upgraded on max size map with dense rock
It feels pretty meh unless you get the upgrade for it that gives you like 5 side drills and even then it's not amazing
