Fuel Queues: Nigerians Have Been Lied to for Too Long - Nwadishi | Dr. Gillis-Harry

  • Nigeria is back to square one, we have always been told a lie about fuel subsidy removal and petroleum availability in the country. The narrative that logistics failure is the reason for the queues is a lie, we have neglected to meet our 70 million barrels per day local consumption target

    A big kudos to this woman. I salute her bravity to hitting the nail on the head without equivocation. She is sound, collected, brilliant and straight to the point, unlike the other man on white who's just a capitalistic, self-serving money-monger, saying a lot but it's all blowing of empty air.
    People like him are reasons why Nigeria is still the way it is: greedy, patronizing and crafty.

    Which tribe, religion, region or Party is suffering more from the fuel scarcity or other problems in Nigeria now?
    Nigerians must surely learn in a hard way. Non of the Politicians cares or even talk about how to resolve the fuel scarcity or other problems indefinitely.

    How come The Nigerian government is willing to spend 15 trillion Naira on building a coastal highway which may not be completed within the tenure of this government, but not to get our local refineries up and running and say goodbye to this subsidy issue forever?

    • @TomiwaAdegbola
      @TomiwaAdegbola 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      let me try and answer this, apart from the lack of political will, many staff in Federal civil service are not competent enough to even carry out the duties it should. e.g many refinery staff have no business being in refineries. Not only refineries all government owned assets are either domarnt or not performing to expectation, only private companies can do stuff. It is not easy to fire or replace civil servants. However if there's political will government can make it work with a private partnership.

    Why is it only NNPC that can import fuel into Nigeria for the consumption of over 250 million people and industries? That's a corrupt practice, and they simply do not have the capacity. Secondly, I do not see the rationale behind that, as petroleum products are not different from any other commodity. All that is needed is proper regulation in place.

To me, example must be made of people who engage in price gauging, any filling station that has products but refuses to sell should be sealed off and products sold at approved price and a fine of not less than N5million imposed before they can be allowed to reopen. In china everyone man, women, and child rode bicycles at one point in time. Then motor bikes and now they drive cars. Which is against the love of crowded with people streets/cities we all love. Because of the wasted passenger and storage space we are going crazy missing the passengers that once gave us so much company. The new Can Am Spider is like the best new car like bike that cures the worlds sicknesses from car smog/solo driving.

    These issues only call on Nigerian youths to rise up and demand a complete turnaround. Otherwise, there's nothing there for them. But for now, they won't. They're still embroiled in their tribal bigotry. They go hungry to bed while their tribesmen, whom they defend with all their might, live in affluence, train their children in the best schools overseas waiting for them to come home and take over from where their fathers stopped.

    The oil retailer bros Billy Gillis Harry is talking as a politician because he needs to protect his 'interest' while Madam Faith is being realistic because she is in touch with the reality. Last week our driver bought fuel from this black marketers in front of a popular filling station. It was time for payment and the Black marketer rushed to get a POS machine. Do you know who owns that POS machine? Your guess is as good as mine.

    Why did Tinubu take over the office of a minister of petroleum when he is struggling with issues about presidency?
    Does it mean that the fuel scarcity could not be foreseen by government? This is what we get when presidents make themselves petroleum Ministers. Buhari did it and it was terrible. Now that Tinubu has made himself the minister; it is horrible. We need fit and proper persons as substantial Ministers of Petroleum.
    After all the suffering, when fuel finally return, Bayo Onanuga, Reno and Bwala will hail Tinubu for the "progress". Mmttcchheeewww

    Nigeria has become a Country where any Criminal cartel both domestic and international could operate, beause the Nigerian system has no monitoring system of checks and balancing, no transparancy or any type of auditing of government Financing and actions. Hence High ranking government officials and Governors of various States could work with their foreign contractors, Oil companies and their domestic partners in crime to looth the Nigerian treasury and Nigerian Natural resources with out any consequences of fear for their action.
