Coming back to view this again after many years, I agree with you - there is something special about the image quality. It's not the highest in acuity (resolution) compared to other cameras in 4K, but there is something special.
Hello can i ask a favor if Distortion Compensation is not grayed out for this lens in the Sony settings? I wanted to confirm that distortion compensation also works for video. Would be a bummer if it only works for photo :(
I did not do anything in post to correct distortion. The camera digitally corrects the distortion in video, taking advantage of the wider than 24mm aspect ratio.
The image quality is awesome. Brilliant colours and contrast. Thanks!

@@markr041 It's not a trick, it's a Sony. :-)
I can't say anything about the camera body but the contrast and colours of this lens are brilliant.
This is the BEST review of this lens on YT. Really nice honest shots. Lets me get to know the lens. Keep it going GG
Great Video, felt like a foreign film in style. Hard to explain but really enjoyed it.
Thank you.
Excellent hi caliber work
Wondering which 24mm to get for video... now I know, thanks! 👍
I just love sony
amazing image quality
thanks for sharing this, nice shots. did you use an ND?
Yes, for the outside shots.

Distortion compensation is blanked out for video.
Did you do some distortion correction? Other reviewers point out the the apparent distortion on 24mm 2.8 but can’t see it in your video.

Would it be as good in my sony a7sii??
Thank you!!
Sure.
Would you recommend this lens over the 20mm 1.8 if you lack of those 300+ dollars extra?
Yes.
What aperture did you use to keep everything in focus? What ISO range too?
Inside in the dark, ISO 12800, so I could shoot with small aperture - f8 or so. Outside ISO 800, and ND filter and f8.
hai bro, is it good to use in low light conditions?
With the fx3 it surely is.
@@markr041 oh well, you're using a cinema line camera body. so you can use iso 12800
Is the autofocus reliable?
Yes, this is one of Sony's newest lenses, so its AF is fast and exploits all the fx3's AF capabilities.
