  • The Bob Perry designed Perry 59 is a custom built, one-of-a-kind blue water cruising yacht, which combines Bob's innovation and design prowess with the build quality of Westerly Marine. Designed to be a comfortable blue water cruiser while also being able to compete in ocean distance racing, the Perry 59 met and exceeded those goals on all fronts. You will find a fully equipped cruising yacht with a manageable, but powerful sail plan; a performance underbody; and stiff construction from the use of modern materials and carbon fiber reinforcements.
Built in Southern California in 2006, Free Range Chicken is one of the highest quality and thought-out designs in her class. Quick, easy to handle, and luxurious are only some of the things that come to mind when seeing this yacht for the first time. With her epoxy e-glass, foam cored, oven cured hull and deck construction she is much lighter than other designs, allowing Free Range Chicken to cover more miles per day to reach her destination. A performance underbody by the Maestro, Bob Perry, gave her an 8' 6" draft with an L-shaped keel and single spade rudder allows her to point higher and sail faster.
If you are in the market for a modern, well equipped blue water cruiser that can cover some miles then you must come to see Free Range Chicken!

What a beautiful, well thought-out designed cruiser! Lovely lines as well.
I am a 6'6" tall man weighting 220 lbs. and I have NO doubt I would be comfortable in this boat!

So . . . wet lines through the cabin roof, to drip on the cabin sole? Don't know how much I'd like that - or am I getting something wrong?

Do you mean the lines that go under the dodger? Those are sealed passages to the companionway clutches, no leaks.

Are you referring to the genoa and staysail halyards? They would be internal in the mast, me thinks, so not dripping on the sole!

@@DavidWaltersYachts No, the genoa and staysail halyards, Roger Briggs seems to think they're internal in the mast, is that correct?

The engine is under the galley sink, large access doors open up.

@@DavidWaltersYachts thank you for the reply, I thought so from your comment on the video when opening the cabinet under the sink. I'd be nice to see the ease of accessibility, or not, to maintain the engine...
