as a Technical Animator/Rigger I can not condone the raised heel position! :D Let the rigger and animator do their jobs as they wish. Design requirements can change and it's way easier to add or remove a heel rig mechanic than to try and make a heeled character pose flat footed and look good.
I personally find high heeled poses annoying simply because they defy logic in an action scenario. Many mocked the lead actress in Jurassic World for outrunning dinosaurs while wearing high heels. It may sex up their stance and walk animations, but it's always a bit silly to see a serious hero trotting around in such footwear.

Men were shown silhouettes or outlines of female forms with varying proportions, and the majority picked 36-24-36 proportions, and the others were not far off, preferring a slightly smaller waist or slightly bigger hips.
If true(please provide a reference to the study), all that says is that people prefer certain silhouettes or outlines to others. Which in itself doesn't support the claim of some kind of objective beauty standard for female bodies. It's like showing people different colors, and because they picked green over red we conclude that people like pears more than apples. The logical mistake here should be fairly obvious. I'm glad this popped up on my timeline! I do video work of one of my jobs (Strip Club DJ - when I'm not busy with work) and i've been noticing how the standard of beauty - especially from a man's standpoint - is being challenged.
Really appreciate this video; straight to the point, and unapologetic. We've hit this stupid point in gaming where people are expected to be ashamed of enjoying beautiful female character design, and that we must embrace those that are intentionally made to be bad. Hopefully developers will finally acknowledge the rising backlash from the last few years, and they can start by watching this video.
I appreciate this video so much, in fact you have no idea how much it means to me watching it exactly today (context: been learning 4 years these skills, took a super expensive course which taught me what I was missing, but they lept pushing me to make a character I wasn’t so excited to work on, ended up making some likeness work but ended up so disappointed with my end result I was about to quit 3D art for good, gonna give it one more try but doing a beautiful female character, as I got into 3D art after playing nier automata, my goal was to make beautiful characters as 2B) sadly they do the uglyficatiom on purpose, there’s even a manual they’ve been used that says “how to de-s*xualize female characters” and basically males them plain on all senses (inclusive not adding dynamic poses) My general rule of thumb id: DO NOT USE HYPER REALISTIC PROPORTIONS. Try to keep realism to at most a 65% and for the rest exaggerate a bit the proportions but more towards the beauty-idealistic side (not the toonish side).
Jokes aside this is actually a very helpful video for a non-artist like me, I now feel confident enough that I can at least adjust pre-made characters in Z-Brush. Would be really nice if you can make a video about clothing as well.
This is gold to know! I am trying to write my own fantasy book (difficult but fun) and this would be fun to play around with to create the characters =)
I remember the story when even one of the poc artists said it is impossible to pitch beautiful BLACK female character nowadays. And they shut him up very quickly, he deleted that post next day.
You can look up women in cosplay videos, even on TH-cam, and most of them are rather slender good looking women. And they like to be looked at as someone good looking. It mean little, if any women was to say, "Don't judge women on how we look," when so many women do put themselves out there to be judged by how they look. Such as in beauty pageants. Yes, I get it. In many cases, looks matter less then such things as having some form of skill. Such as If I am looking for some good art work from someone, the artist does not have to look like a work of art themself. But if I want to model off the look of a women, so I can have a model that may look attractive to 90% of strait men or gay women, the look of the model maters. Such as the one you are showing off. She is one fantastic looking women. ^.^
Big respect for putting this video together, it’s perfectly worded🙏 We love beautiful women & refuse to be attacked for it. “ Sex sells “ has been true before it was even a phrase, and we aren’t about to fix what ain’t broken 🙅♂️
I understand the hate towards Ubis 2b, but 2b is literally the clothes on Ianas base 3d mesh, nothing more. The siege team makes it a point NOT to modify the base mesh of any character in siege when it comes to siege. What that means, unfortunately for us Siege crack addicts, is that some clothing/cosplay simply look dogshit on some characters. However, I will say this from a professional sculpting standpoint, your opinion of the base mesh being better or worse is the complete wrong attitude and quite frankly inane. I agree with you, if you make a female character, make them look real good. But From an anatomical standpoint and from someone whos worked within multiple studios; sometimes you have specific restrictions that you absolutely, under any circumstances, cannot go against such as the base 3d model, you can only do what you CAN do, and doing what they did with Ianas model is quite frankly impressive, because it's no different than what an irl cosplay would be like. You cannot magically make your shoulders narrower, you cannot magically change the proportions of where your fat goes when you gain weight, you cannot simply pick and choose. And because siege's characters (I'm assuming this was siege's Iana 2b elite) are made to be *anatomically* realistic to their specific lifestyle and job (a special operations team, milirary types) you will have square shoulders, you will have a stocky body. Believe it or not, a body that works out for efficiency and strength, will not look like the women we drool over that do bodybuilding type workouts or workouts that emphasise specific muscle groups. Instead, they will exercise specifically for functional strength, and only functional strength. That means dragging yourself through mud, dragging 40 kilos up a 10km hike of equipment, that means carrying heavy bullshit like 'special gadgets' for siege and weapons, that means a lot of pushups, a lot of chin ups, a lot of farmer/builder type movements and workouts. And that typically means a body type that was shown in ubisofts 2b rendition. Is it pretty? No, not to most, but it wasnt MEANT to be either. Don't like it? Tough. But don't dog on it either if you don't know the context AS a fellow games developer. If you're gamer, and aren't in the sculpting or character development field, then dog on it as much as you want, that is fine. You don't know better, and I quite frankly agree with you. It looks shit. But as an artist or someone IN the field? Understand the restrictions placed on the modellers, understand they worked with what they had, understand that they did the absolute best you COULD do with what they had, and understand that siege did not create any female model to be 'pretty' or look objectively 'good'. Some are obese, some are missing fingers, some are scared, some where literal fucking balaclavas and cover the body stock full with equipment. Understand that you are expecting the figures of a playboy *model* from a normal run of the mill female military special operations member. You will not get them. And the result is the equivalent of 90% of real life 2B cosplays at conventions. Have a problem with that? Then you're a poor games developer and artist if you can't take those into consideration.
They know how to do them, the main problem is ideological. Some of this devs believe that making a woman this attractive is harmful and objectifies them.
“We shall soon be in a world in which a man may be howled down for saying that two and two make four, in which furious party cries will be raised against anybody who says that cows have horns, in which people will persecute the heresy of calling a triangle a three-sided figure, and hang a man for maddening mob with the news that grass is green.” G.K. Chesterton.
TFD devs have blessed us! Royal skies can you do a full on tutorial of making beautiful ladies with details, like maybe a course maybe? Muscles and stuff!
I think one of the most glaring problems im noticing is that some people are that sensitive when it comes to seeing attractive people. Like, if anything, they should motivate you to be attractive.
Good one. Can you PLEASE do a similar tutorial for rigging muscular/bulky/superhero male models too? I'm not saying that to be funny - so many 3D devs have no idea how to rig a set of pectoral muscles or even good shoulders, or how to make a good, aesthetic male body in 3D. I'm talking about characters similar to what we see in Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8. Other than basic anatomy knowledge, getting shoulders/pecs and armpits to behave well is a bit of a weight painting nightmare and a lot of the time, devs don't even know how to use helper bones or shapekeys to pull chest muscles in when the character's arms are raised above their heads - even in AAA games, you rarely see it done well! I think Guilty Gear male models in particular have excellent muscle form and character silhouette by focusing on the upper body, but studying Arksys rigs is a real puzzle.
TBH didn't mean to click on this, but you kept making me laugh @ the absurdity of it all. Used to Render in Bryce(+Lightning) & model in DAZ-3D or Blender all the time, but haven't in years. Definitely gonna check out Z-Brush now- so thanks.

I appreciate this video so much, in fact you have no idea how much it means to me watching it exactly today (context: been learning 4 years these skills, took a super expensive course which taught me what I was missing, but they lept pushing me to make a character I wasn’t so excited to work on, ended up making some likeness work but ended up so disappointed with my end result I was about to quit 3D art for good, gonna give it one more try but doing a beautiful female character, as I got into 3D art after playing nier automata, my goal was to make beautiful characters as 2B)
sadly they do the uglyficatiom on purpose, there’s even a manual they’ve been used that says “how to de-s*xualize female characters” and basically males them plain on all senses (inclusive not adding dynamic poses)
My general rule of thumb id: DO NOT USE HYPER REALISTIC PROPORTIONS. Try to keep realism to at most a 65% and for the rest exaggerate a bit the proportions but more towards the beauty-idealistic side (not the toonish side).
Ubisoft at this point should just release the Beyond Good and Evil sequel comic, and disappear with a touch of dignity.
bro I'm gonna have to ask for some source links for your references.
I never realized that heels are supposed to make the legs look longer, but it makes so much sense now.
i hate to break it to you but that means you're stupid :/
Let's go through my recomm--CLICK THAT ONE RIGHT NOW!
The first 16 seconds of this video is the reason why I subscribed to you many years ago. You truly are a man of culture.
This man is needs more views, he is cooking and it smells great.
Jokes aside this is actually a very helpful video for a non-artist like me, I now feel confident enough that I can at least adjust pre-made characters in Z-Brush. Would be really nice if you can make a video about clothing as well.
I love your videos, the perfect blend of informational, educational and entertainment
We needed this video so badly, a long time ago, and we need a lot of it.
i like your style kid. keep going
This is gold to know!
I am trying to write my own fantasy book (difficult but fun) and this would be fun to play around with to create the characters =)
Thank you so much for making this video. This really needed to be said.
keep pointing this out bro ... I love this
''Approves of this''
Doing the lords work. 😺😺😺😺
I always liked you but seeing you open up on your views was a nice feeling! :D
Have a heart for those of us viewing this on PC - my neck is now fucked. Thanks RS! ;)
I subscribed because it just feels good to hear someone be real for a few minutes.
You sound like an incel, and you have never seen a naked women before or even touched one, lmao.
The bobsled had me DYING
Fact after fact my friend!
Brother these ppl were too angry to take 3 seconds to confirm it's not actually 2B. I dont even think they know what game it's from. They don't care.
They know how to do them, the main problem is ideological. Some of this devs believe that making a woman this attractive is harmful and objectifies them.
It’s not even April Fools Day, you are the best RoyalSkies, the best. Find your beauty! :)
Nigeria mentioned! I can die happy!! 😂❤🇳🇬
never clicked on a video so fast in my life
“We shall soon be in a world in which a man may be howled down for saying that two and two make four, in which furious party cries will be raised against anybody who says that cows have horns, in which people will persecute the heresy of calling a triangle a three-sided figure, and hang a man for maddening mob with the news that grass is green.”
G.K. Chesterton.
My neck hurts.
When and why did it sudenly become "toxic" to find beautiful women BEAUTIFUL?
Thank you for making this video!
선생님의 취향은 잘 알았습니다
Thumbs up for the Song Joo A clips
Thank you for this!
Now THIS is the content I’m here for this is PEAK
A banger vid as always, mate
On the topic of this, are there any good free female sculpting mesh for blender?
There's free base meshes on Blender's website.
@@ConcavePgons ah so there is, thanks!
bro is a passionate man of culture.
Thank you for this video! Wish you for a long and happy life 😂😂😂😂
TBH didn't mean to click on this, but you kept making me laugh @ the absurdity of it all. Used to Render in Bryce(+Lightning) & model in DAZ-3D or Blender all the time, but haven't in years. Definitely gonna check out Z-Brush now- so thanks.
I've said this same thing. Glad to see you post this.
Not all heroes wear a cape. Bro you are a hero!
Give a man some cake, he will be happy for a day. Teach a man to bake, he is happy for life.
We need more people like you, bro
bro's the ultimate gooner XD
