    The world is a wonderful place to live in because of people like you. You made my day Sir, God bless you.❤❤❤❤
    Sir I have a similar method because of which I never had to change my Flute pads for the last 26 years now.
    Sir would like to share the same with you.❤❤❤

    Hi Dan and Greatings from Germany! I watched your Video and its one of those I love TH-cam for: Quiet, slowly and personal with realy helpful information from ones who tried it out. very good idea with the Tape and also with the plasticboddle and the kork to find out where it leaks. Thank you. I played the tenor-Sax in my youth and bought a Flute now because its quiet and can be used in my appartment without disturbing the neighbours. I Bought the flute on ebay as you but had no idea that generally they are not playable. now i can make this flute work. Thank you so much!

    Dan I watched this here "Teflon Tape" first. Since then I have studied your various works.
    Would you ever give a wooden flute the hot oil bath ? As part of a full restoration&c.
    Thanks for your videos and stories.
    I suggest for your enjoyment viewing youtube "Moroccan spoon carving in Marrakech".

      Buffet soaked in almond oil, Haynes treats its piccolo blanks in the same way. But as far as I know no one has ever tried "firing" a flute the way I "fire" my spoons. My finish would probably be too sticky. Thanks for watching my videos!

    Well done! I like your ideas and imagination It costs so much to have a flute serviced that I’m prepared to sacrifice aesthetics for functionality… have you thought of taking the pads off and wrapping them in the tape…that way it’ll stay on without knots 🤷‍♂️

    • @dandustin824
      @dandustin824  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have thought of that but as of yet haven't tried it. Why don't you try and let me know? Thanks for watching!

      @@dandustin824 my flute dosnt have air leaks at this point in time so I don’t have to fiddle with the pads yet… but I’ll certainly try with your plumbers tape method when the time comes….🤞🏼

    Hi. I tried scotch tape but it didn't seal. I will have to try pipe thread tape. Thanks for video!

      Hi Randy! Pipe thread tape should work better for you. Let me know how you make out. Thanks for watching!

      @@dandustin824 thanks for reply! Have another good flute besides the leaking one. May try taking it apart for fun and try adjusting and using tape. Gaining a real appreciation for flute repairers. That's some tedious work and requires patience!

      It's very common plumber's tape -- the lightest available.
