@nking1299 First is, the Royal Oak was attacked late at night and U-47 didn't dive over the whole operation in Scapa Flow, otherwise they couldn't leave Scapa Flow because of the Tides. Prien had to go Ahead Flank and supported the Diesel Engines with his electic Engines. And U-47 was a VIIb afaik.
@WilhelmAUT Prien was the whole time surface, he launched 4 Torpedoes from the Front, 3 to the old CV Pegasus and one to the Royal Oak. The last Torpedo hits the Royal Oak, so Prien turned the Boat to launche the back torpedo. At 1.24h he launched Tube 1,2 and 4 again and they hitted the Royal Oak. Tube 3 had a "Rohrkrepierer" don't know the translation, but the Torpedo didn't came out of the Tube.
6 things I saw wrong compared to the real attack,1 the sub wasn't submerged, 2 two shot detonated, not three, 3 the treeline was way farther back than at scapa flow, 4 the attack wasn't at night, 5 that wasn't U-27, it was U-47, 6 it wasn't sunk, they got back to Germany.
Please read the description of Part 1... he CLEARLY says it's not to be historical, it's just a random raid he did. Please read before you call out everything wrong with the video in your eyes.

U-27 was hunted down and sunk west of Lewis, Scotland, by depth charges from the British destroyers Fortune, Faulknor and Forester. All 38 crewmen survived and were taken prisoner for the remainder of the war.

Excellent small film! I Wonder if you know about U-27's real fate, as it only had two sorties, with no ships on the first, but on the second it got two tankers, but then got sunk by a British destroyer. Very good film!
best SH5 video i've seen so far. some bugs that bug me: damaged ships dont eventually sink, destroyers ram you and dont do any damage, depth charges hardly do any damage, the way ships sink is almost always the same, ships dont capsize or break apart, even with 100% realism you can see the enemy ship on the minimap if you hold the cursor over it (i wouldnt know the ship's speed if it didnt though). I really hope they fix these. I'm off searching for that carrier cause it almost march.
@MidgardEagle Yes, but I use a mod made by elanaiba (modified a bit by me). Its a zoom mod 1x, 10x, 20x. There is no post effect zoom in this video, its all operated by the scrool wheel on the mouse. :)
the smal warships , let them spot you , when they attack , they come straight at you , dont hide when they come near , otherwise they change course . when they are at 300 meters, release the torpedo , you can sink and demolish them with one torpedo. i have to say , if you mis the shot when you chosen to shoot at 300 meters , yeah thats when things go bad , so dive , manouvre , attack again , running away is only when you have no torpedoes , i die more with running away
Advice on harbor raids draw the defenders out and take them out 1 at a time use type 1 torpedoes as decoys they often buy it when a ship is on an attack run stealth is gone so punch to flank and clear the depth charge path then use the explosions to mask your exit with rapid abrupt course changes but I'm raiding with the much bigger harder hitting IX series

Great video, but not quite historically accurate. Prien and U-47 got away scot free, but were later sunk by the destroyer, HMS Wolverine. Also, the Type VIIB had no external stern tubes. The only U-boat type to have an external torpedo tube was the Type VIIA. Otherwise, I really did enjoy the video. Wonderful editing.
This game is so great! the only problem I have is sometimes its hard finding ships to intercept when your out in the middle of the Atlantic...... the coastal missions are wicked fun though.

Pretty sure HMS Valiant wasn't at Scapa Flow during the real U-Boat attack. The only battleship (or any ship) that was sunk during that attack was HMS Royal Oak.
The MOD,s were nice(realy improved the graphics) and ,hay! The Destroyer from hell is still around. (guess thats why you didn't save that last torpedo for him) I play Silent Hunter II. You also seem to get alot more depth of water than I (only 16m@ low tide). "Goot luck und,goot hunting".
I keep waiting for the moment just before torpedo impact to see the game freeze and say, "Sorry, but you have just been disconnected from the server. All unsaved data has been lost. Do not try to access the Ubisoft Forums, because they will be down as well until the servers are rebooted".
While it was good prein shot two torpedoes at the hms royal oak. Label the royal oak disaster. The first torpedo hit the ships anchor. The second hit the starboard side half way down the poop deck. Yes POOP deck.

blackpanther the game DOES let you do it realistically. It also lets you do it unrealistically (and get sunk, like in this video).

I probrably would have cut engines and increased depth when the destroyers were after me, then repaired and reloaded when I was on the bottom
