Crit stuff on CB is bad anyways you'd never use anything more than WE and you only use that cause it's simply too good of a skill to pass up on it even if the majority of your damage can't crit

It's been fun playing with this. The swax discharges have also had a nice bump no where near this but the rest of the game play is a lot more consistent
This is for dragon only but if you don't want to run dereliction, load the set with dragonheart and put valstrax's rampage deco on and it still goes pretty high. I don't think the numbers reach as high and its dragon only but its a more comfortable because you can just sit at 80% and still hit very hard. At no augments on valstrax's CB I reached 137 element with lvl 2 dragon attack. I Haven't made all the decos yets so there's that and augments to add on.
You can further boost this build when using dragon element because you can use dragonheart and valtrax soul to get a lot more element. Don’t know the exact number but it’s probably close to 300
getting dragonheart slotted into the build is gonna be hard, and if you do it youll probably lose out on a lot of the other skills in the build you can get it from qurious crafting now but then whatever armor you put it on will no longer be usable on other elements plus between furious and conversion youre already at +30 to all resistances (+35 on blue scroll buff), and when you add in 43 resistances from dango (spread across 3 elements) that means that almost all your resistances should be near max and its a lot easier to achieve
That's the kind of insanity that made me quit CB after switching from Impact to Elemental Phials (well into the pre-TU1 endgame by that point). UED on repeat - most complex weapon my Astalos. 😆
Just a double check Cotton if the mistake was the script or the math, but in Hollow's breakdown of Dragon Conversion he divided by 20 then multiplied by 5 to get his extra damage, which is equivalent to dividing by 4. You said you divided by 5 to get your extra damage. Is this element value even higher?

most charge blade users still use the chainsaw mode because it's more consistent with dealing damage outside of speed runners that have been using the weapon since they were born, it's awesome to see a clip of it but in practice, a whole different story
I think Ill do something similar to this set, but without dereliction, and for ice Ill probably put the velkhana legs that are pretty busted. Also, I think Ill get some dragonheart from the qurious crafting instead to increase the potency of dragon conversion. still gotta decide on the vambraces though.
I'd be leery about that - dragonheart level 1 doesn't add 30 element resist, it SETS element resist to 30. Depending on armor rolls and resists, you may be better served by just using the resist decos and eating the best resist dango for the chosen element. That's also static and not gated behind half health.
Made this exact build. Same skills and everything but my number aren’t anywhere near these numbers. Anyone know why? My phials are doing around 300-500 each and sometimes even as low as 150-200
im a PS4 player so i didnt get to Sunbreak yet. Still, as a CB Player, whats bothered me the most in MHR is that during the time needed to perform UED the monster had time do go home, do some laundry, take a nap then come back and dodge your attack, and after a UED even if you landed it the monster could react, counter attack or do anything before the animation even ended. Does that got better in Sunbreak?
Is it possible for you to make a video about a decent elemental charge blade build without dereliction? Although I enjoy the high damage Im also not that good so the constant worry about health makes it tough for me
I fully understand the build going on but the flip side of dereliction i believe boosts instead of elemental it boosts raw attack and K.O. damage so in theory with a little skill shuffling couldn't you set up a build to be able to use all the ailments as well and non elemental and basically turn your CB into a KO king?
Did I miss the back door in Qurio crafting that lets you keep skills and add Furious/Strife level skills? His arms and feet still have resentment with the augmented furious or strife

That’s maybe the only thing I am really mad about with Cancom with title update 4. great sword got stronger, bow, lgb, HBG, Swiss axe, charge blade but the rest is crippling the way up. I mean, it sucks when two lbg or HBG user just do 60k when everyone else is about 15-20 on the same time. Same with Switch axe and charge blade. All weapons which have been powerful before just did another buff, plus all ele builds another buff as well, but sometimes you don’t want to have a single build for every ele , or you want to play raw builds, or you play unloved weapons like hammer or hunting horn. But yeah, if you love them you love them, but still it sucks to feel worthless during a hunt. They have two options, nerf all the broken builds or help the other weapons to get buffs as well and to be able to be at somewhat the same level. 1.25 to 1.5 times less damage over time ok, but three times less damage over time? That sucks hard.
dual blades also benefit a lot from elemental, a similar build to this but with dual blades will have great dps, as opposed to this build which just has one really big hit plus GS can now hit for 15k when setup with frostcraft right so dont exclude it from the “this weapon is OP now” group
@@xphials4621 charge blade conversion definitely needs a nerf, but they can just give it the bowgun treatment (bowguns have a lower conversion rate) and itll be fine, the weapon itself can remain untouched

I main cb and I'm going to throw out an alternative for css users. use blast with powder mantle and tumble a monster constantly with stuns. this is indeed niche because believe it or not, a couple of thousand phial hits are kinda pointless if you whiff a lot of your counter saed because it's easy to faint using dereliction.
Has anyone tried mixing with High Rank Valstrax yet? Dragonheart even at level 3 sets all res to 50 when dragonblighted at 70% hp, and ther is a lv4 jewel that adds +1 Dragonheart now. Dont have time to farm Risen Val yet, but i believe it would work in synergy considering they made the dragonheart jewel a lv4 jewel just to get +1 to it.
Why does the Dragon Tree beat Valstrax Tree CB? starts slightly higher dragon element and affinity on top of endless white sharpness, is the two tier one jewel slots the deciding factor? I can't imagine anything else
I am still very confused because how the Dragon tree CB could be better than the Valstrax one ? Both have elemental phials but Val has higher raw, elemental power and affinity
Super late reply, as I was also curious about this question, but from the little bit of searching around I did, the dragon tree charge blade has more slotting at a very small cost of elemental damage and sharpness. Valstrax CB in MR has a 3 slot, while the dragon CB has a 2 slot and 2 1 slots. It's likely a matter of preference of anything, but looking at it objectively, dragon is probably better build wise.
I couldn't figure out how to use it back then but getting into here. Til then I was using Switch Axe. Sucks that both styles of CB couldn't benefit from the update.

with level 2 load shells, just get gud and drop counter peak performance for axe hopper. you only need to get to yellow before max phials and then axe hopper will allow you to make any directional corrections via aerial ued
My main/favorite is charge blade but at this point I just feel sorry for weapons that aren't element CB. I mean seriously speaking any weapon can use element (except gun lance) but the benefit is nothing compared to CB.
We have very well deserved this after being disowned by capcom at base Rise and it was a hot mess. Elemental CB was a joke and impact phial wasn't much better. Now we are back and take what is ours thanks to capcom remembering that CB exists.
If yall are going to try this Definitely should replace Rapid morph with something more useful for a play style like this. Its just not worth the investment for charge blade like it is for swaxe.
I'm trying some dragon conversion builds...and after the first Ultra ED, nothing comes out when I do it again. I have red shield and full phials, and while the downward strike is over 1k, there no explosions afterwards, as if my phials were all gone. What's going on?
Rapid Morph is pretty good and not hard to get 2+ ranks of in talismans. Otherwise guard would be pretty relevant since guarding attacks into UEDs are how our biggest hits happen
Keep in mind when dragon heart is active your character is dragon blighted. Which means none of your elements would work outside of dragon element I believe. But yeah that should work
Dereliction wouldn't be so bad if I could just get Bloodlust to appear on one of the armor pieces, unfortunately my luck with RNG for getting that particular skill is non existent, at least I feel like it is anyway

Yeah, but that kind of build will be exclusive to Dragon Phial Charge Blade, since the dragonblight you contract will nullify all your elemental damage except dragon

Although I have been trying crit draw into a morph combo or compressed discharge using frost craft and it doesn't actually suck so see how that feels.

It's actually totally worth it to charge the blue scroll, every tic of savage axe counts so 4 swings of ED2 will give you that in less than a minute

They're B tier skills, only cost 9 points, you can get them easily as they aren't rare and without needing to lose a skill

Dereliction wouldn't be so bad if I could just get Bloodlust to appear on one of the armor pieces, unfortunately my luck with RNG for getting that particular skill is non existent, at least I feel like it is anyway

@@kalynbinder5624 I want it so bad for the HBG set that Ceph made on Twitter, it's such a nice skill to have to counter Dereliction since after a certain damage threshold you get healed, which is really great, I'm trying but alas no luck, I did get Powder Mantle on the gloves though, which is nice, just wish it was Bloodlust though

Yeah, but that kind of build will be exclusive to Dragon Phial Charge Blade, since the dragonblight you contract will nullify all your elemental damage except dragon
