- The New England Wildlife Center in Massachusetts has treated thousands of injured animals, but one recent case stands out: A Canada goose named Arnold with a badly-damaged foot, who was visited each day during his convalescence by his mate, dubbed Amelia. Canada geese have been my one and only favourite geese for as far as I can remember, I love them so much
I’m down in south Texas & one, for whatever reason, stayed behind with all our other critters for a couple years.

This is such a great story. Animals are more than just "animals", they feel just as much as humans do.
Keep in mind that humans--no matter how exalted they see themselves--humans are animals, too.
Yeah, it's somehow sad that humans still don't realize that Oxytocin is the most important part of evolution and reproduction. For all living beings that need to mate and team up somehow. Humans are more like: "If it's not able to make a proper sad face (which is mainly the human communication), it's certainly not feeling anything at all".
Love this story...I love animals so much...they always remind me of the good in the world ....if only we humans were more like them...what a different world it would be ❤

Of course it's love Steve. What else would u call it? When my crows partner passed he was crying for at least a week after, making that horribly sad gutteral sound. It's Soo weird that some think we r the only ones who feel such emotions! WRONG!!

Good for the vets for seeing that their patient will only be helped by allowing his mate to visit him.
When a goose is injured or sick, its mate will typically stay with it until it either recovers or dies.
I can't help but think of a line from Fiddler on the Roof. "If that's not love, what is?"

Wonderful story. Darn inspiring indeed. But we need (unfortunately) to always look at the broader picture, which the establishment media, using a multitude of facile excuses, rarely or never does. Like this is one of many animal species singled out by the "sport hunting" community for the shotgun treatment every fall. I wonder if this had any impact on any of those guys who see geese as moving targets rather than animals worthy of respect and care by a supposedly "superior" species.
Hunters and ranchers respect animals more than anyone in the world.

Love is just a word invented by Man. The feelings, the emotions, the reactions are real and felt by all species around the world. This would be my response if someone were to ask me if Animals feel love. The simple answer is Yes, of course they do.

Am I the only one who can't eat smart animals and thinks no one should? Fish, turkey, chkn....ok, dumb
There are videos of fish making underwater art for their mates, and turkeys and chickens running into the arms of their human guardians. They know love just as well as these geese do ❤️ Go vegan for them all 😊
