I love when we value stuff because the second it hits market, all that “value” shot down like 60-70% of the value that comes out on these videos. So dunno why everyone always hypes the prerelease prices. It doesn’t mean diddly squat
I think most of the hype around the value is the accessibility to cards that have been expensive. Not that I’m so stoked to have these cards from a collectors point of view
@@SouthernSorcery I definitely agree. Especially when it seems everything is just targeted at commander and although reprints have made the game more accessible to people, sometimes I’m flabbergasted as a long time magic player the prices of uncommons and commons. I never thought in my life I would pay $3 for a spell stutter sprite or a pongify. And it’s wild that it should t be a supply and demand issue since you’re going from needing a 4 of to a 1 of. Commander really stirred the pot lol
@@KNDMofficialthat's because most of the player base is commander
It still means a lot, if a month ago you wanted them but couldn't spend 200$ now you can with this deck. Y'all half empty people gotta chill
@@KNDMofficial Supply and demand does kind of explain it though. I'll ignore the fact commander is incredibly popular and hence leads to a lot of people wanting cards.
Some of the cards sure they'd be more expensive if they could be 4 of. But take the 2 cards you listed. Spell Stutter Sprite and Pongify.
Spell Stutter Sprite is never seen in Modern, Legacy, or Vintage. So the only place it sees play is in Pauper, since it is good for a common and Commander since it's a singleton format so you cannot just use 4 of with better counterspells, and you also need 100 cards not 60. Pongify is only used in commander.
Commander creates demand for cards that literally wouldn't see play in any other format. So sure you only need 1 of instead of 4 of, but it's still 1 more than you'd see in any non comaner format.
The only thing to complain about with that deck is that the facecommander looks better on the package than on the card. And that says a lot. Afterall the new cards and reprints are amazing and those that aren't of value are still good
I do prefer the art on the box to the actual card. Super strange they wouldn’t use that
The one deck I was excited to get... exceeded my expectations
It’s just a big secret lair. Ton of reprints, but the deck itself is really bad. It’s all ramp and there are very little payoffs. The commanders don’t do much either. All of the other ones look much better as precons atm.
I will agree that it isn’t very focused. I’m working on the upgrade guide for it and it’s been really difficult
Chances are I’ll turn mine into a Simic Pile with Tatyova as the lead she’s in there.
@@c0smizonjust finished modifying it. You just need to add in some win cons. Omo can generate you more mana than almost any other simic commander. And she’s probably the most fun precon I’ve played. She will likely become one of my signature commanders because she’s so much fun.
I won 3 games with this deck against my friends custom decks!
I bought this as an impulse buy at my local LGS during prerelease, mostly because I knew it had some value and it looked like one of the better MH3 precons. You know what though? I've had quite a bit of fun playing it, so I don't feel like I can bring myself to tear it apart
Last I checked the imperium of man precon was $350, granted a year has gone by and I haven't checked in awhile; I'm fairly sure that it still has higher value
Some of the precons have fluctuated since their printing, but this is just the total reprint value, at the time of release, this one is the highest.
It's aftermarket price is that high just like the ur dragon precon
Chevelle in the background is amazing
In. A. Precon....I'm pre-ordering it
Bought it to strip for parts. Some of it is going in my lands deck, some of it is getting slapped into a mono stompy deck, and some of it is just going to hang out as reserve cards for future builds. Too good of a value to pass up, especially with the number of new lands that are coming with it that will be hard to find elsewhere
I don't think I can take this apart, it's an interesting deck with an unusual theme
Seems like they always try to balance these precons out so you have to think twice about purchasing just one. Always one with insane reprint value, one that is super powerful out the box, one with a unique build, etc. This one definitely had the best reprints.
Picked up this precon today, was going to keep it "as is" but after looking it over I decided to tear it apart. Too much in it that my favorite decks wanted.
Sage of the Nexus, Planar Nexus and Omo, Queen of Vesuva had to go into my Gates/Initiative deck.
So we are just going to not talk about THE MOAT EXPENSIVE card in the deck. Planar Nexus, "Am i a joke to you?"
The title said reprints. Planar nexus is not a reprint, as it just came out with this set.
It’s a banger for sure!!! But a brand new card. When you factor those in the value just gets even better
I traded up to get this deck and it's pretty slick. been goldfishing with it and it's very fun and tricksy, just seems to lack a way to turn that value into punching power and it needs stronger draw. otherwise very good and very fun
Then again, if its that accessible the prices will drop likely
They can make good precons, but purposefully give us garbage
"Worth $114 in reprints" fixed that for you...
Sure they are now. They weren’t when they got announced
American prices are wierdly high
FYI these are card market prices and not actual prices. Scute Swarm is closer to $3, Uro is $10 (but you can snag him for $3 after the reprint), Vesuva is $13 (again, $3 after reprint), etc etc. Cardmarket is a scam I fell for once and will not fall for again
Not meant to be financial advice, just how much the cards were worth when the precon decklist was announced
Drown in dreams ✨
All those reprints will bottom out to maybe half that. Some probably more then others. Dont preorder it, just wait a little bit and the prices will be more appeling.
They usually do fall of course but for $60 you’re still getting more than that in value
Well then. I guess I have to ask at my lgs if they do preoders cause I don't think you'll get this one easily.
Luckily for me, no one ordered this precon in my LGS xD. I'm getting 2, but if I have the money, I'd order as many as I could lol. The lands are way too good.
Only one at my lgs, was about to just get a bundle. Reconsidered and bought the precon. Too many good cards to pass this one up.
precons are getting crazy
The value is insane but the deck is honestly meh. At least for me. (Daniel)
@@SouthernSorcery its got the vesuva/dark depths combo in it tho. Does it come with thespian stage too? If so, the adds to the deck are pretty minimal to upgrade. Not sure if it needs a dryad tho
crazy expensive
I’ll be honest, I’m buying this, but I’m subbing out like 10 cards and making Nadu the commander
Pongify's been reprinted like a dozen times, how is it $5?
1 mana removal in blue ?
what else destroys for 1?
Because the demand of the cards. Rystic study have 2 reprints in a year and it double the price.
Ok but what the win con for this deck like how do win with it
There isn’t really one. It’s kinda a sonic good stuff deck
Broooo I should have bought this one instead 😂😂😂😂
Which one did you get??
@@SouthernSorcery bro I played you with reanimator.
We played against the merfolk this past Sunday 😂
@Gigex oh nice!!! They were popping off hard with Hakbal!!!
So it’s simic good stuff?
Pretty much
The commander is a "Nonbasic types matters". It lets you combine the payoff for stuff like deserts, gates, locus and more
Omo is really good in a gates, urza, caves, desert or locus deck. I had to get this precon for my gates deck.
