  • in this behind the scenes video I show you the pastel corner of my art studio, I also show how I store my pastel pencils and soft pastels. Hopefully these tips will also help if you have a bad back from drawing / painting.

    I work in coloured pencils mostly and always lay a towel on my work table...the pencils don't roll off and it's handy to wipe pencils after sharpening,there is often bits of pencil debri on the pencil. 😀😀

    Such good ideas! Been looking for a good drafting table for a while, they can get pricy though.

    Some good ideas here! I'm still struggling with where to put all my supplies as I work in pastels, oils, watercolor and acrylics. I should probably choose TWO of my favorite mediums to work in and forget the rest, but that would be too easy lol!

      By narrowing down mediums maybe we could focus on few in depth...but it's very hard to narrow....I stopped now acrylics and gouache....continuing oils and watercolour. I thought acrylics and gouache work on almost same principles as oils so I could remove them . However I did not throw my gouache supplies as I'm using them practicing value studies and colour mixing charts.also I'm using pastel pencils when I travel

    Thank you for sharing your talents and your knowledge. When traveling what do you use for your pastel pencils? Thank you for your time.

    I really like the drafting table. Can you share the specifics on it or perhaps a link as to where it can be purchased?

    I think your studio needs more color, maybe some neon lights will do, nice video.

      Lol it doesn't need to be pretty or distracting, there are plenty of people doing that for TH-cam - its a calm place for me to paint and draw. ;o)

    Hi Jason, thanks to you and your channel I just started with pastel pencils and I love them. I am now looking to get some pastel sticks for background work and I have hard time deciding about the first brand I am going to invest in. I could have a good deal on Faber Castell 60 set of sticks but I don’t see you using them. Are they any good?

    Are the pencil boxes from Jackson's too? Those are nice if you accumulate a lot of pencils like you have.

    Hi Jason...very peaceful ambience....could you please do a video on how to narrow down or justify art when there multiple art interests like oils, pastels, clay, watercolour?? I'm want to purchase a drawing board same like yours although that might burn my wallet

    • @wildlifeartjm
      @wildlifeartjm  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      why would you want to narrow your creativity down? who says you have to anyway? I like oils and pastels, but I also occasionally do gouache, coloured pencils and charcoal.

      @@wildlifeartjm thanks for your reply....I'm in full-time job doing night shifts also....ART is my hobby....so I have limited free time besides family time....Still I'm using every free minute for ART. I can't compare with you who is excellent multi tasker and a full time artist. I'm commenting for people who are having too many irresistible hobbies like me...can you suggest how can I balance?

      @@sujanithtottempudi2991 Just try different mediums and find one or two you think you list the best, then stick with those for the time being. You can always branch out more in the future.
