I am a company driver that has been with my current company since October doing the cdl program. after completing my miles, and having a few more things paid off by then, I'm really going to look into the shippers like you said in another video as well, by cutting out the middleman and this as well. You definitely inspire. I graduated college back in December of 08(during the recession) in Entrepreneurship management, have had a landscape business, just traveled 5 years doing welding, and recently just got into trucking because, well, projects were getting very disorganized(would never know these things till you actually get there), dealing with people, bad machinery etc on welding. But my mind works all the time with business. Really appreciate your videos, time, and how clearly your able to convey your messages. You are definitely talented and very appreciated.
At 2:57 was funny. Dave you definitely got some Player Player in you. I haven't seen the advertisement in a long time but, a company was advertising power only loads in a trucking magazine. That was good info about Menard's.
Bro I felt that in my soul. That's why I don't mind giving out keys either. You can give 100 people the key to success and out of that 100, only 5 will act on it and out of that 5 maybe only 1 will follow through to the end. In the end, you helped at least one person and it cost you nothing.
It's funny what you said regarding how your secret will probably not be used by most people. It's sadly so true that most people won't take just a little bit of time or effort to make their life so much easier and increase their business potential as well as profits. Yes, what you mentioned is not necessarily a secret but there are a lot of things out there just like what you're talkin about that people Miss every day. This was a great tip and I have had a number of businesses and love tips like this where you think yourself, yep that's definitely a great idea or tip. Good job. Now, where are the next 100?
Thank you for another great vide. As a female getting ready to purchase my first truck, I find your channel very informative. Have you done a video on hiring ‘good ‘ drivers? I have been working as a dispatcher and have encountered all kinds of drivers and would like to start out with one who won’t ‘ leave me by the wayside’. Keep doing what you doing, no doubt you are a good business man.
@Cynthia’s Gifts I love women big time, just thought you were equal and don’t understand why y’all gotta be putting it out there like it makes a difference. The only weird thing going on here is OC pointing out her gender that has absolutely no bearing on the subject. You can’t be equal while point out that you are not equal at the same time. It’s counter productive

Very helpful. I did the same thing when I was pulling tankers, but in that sector it's a little bit more complex situation due to the fact it's better if you are under someone else's authority
Hey David, Could you please make a video for routes, lanes, fedex, ups, food? I mean it is starting very small to big ones. Example bread route biz to uhaul lines. what are the differences and how you categorize it? thank you in advance Jack
Thanks brother for doing this great videos I’m starting calling this local companies, the season just started and they always need some others help them, thanks again
Hell yeah dry van/ intermodel is the way to go man, hub group, jb hunt, xpo, I think cr england all run intermodel drop and hook or I guess what you call power loads. You'll always see owner operators pulling containers for these companies
Totally digging your channel. Thanks. I upped my insurance to include trailer interchange (50k) and also increased uninsured /underinsured from 35k each to 100k each and it bumped my rate up $243.
I appreciate all the tips that you gave in your video. I just bought a 2016 Mack pinnacle, I have my own authority. Yes it has been hard to get started, but with your tips I'm sure I will be successful thank you. Anthony
It's very dangerous to pay insurance by the year or by the month because that way you are paying insurance while the driver sleeps. Far safer is to pay insurance by the mile so that the bill won't run up while the driver sleeps and then the driver doesn't need to sleep at the wheel, causing an insurance claim. Insurance companies should know better than to sell truck insurance by the year or month.
Thank you for being so generous, thoughtful and so true. With $ 350 start-up i made $ 3,100 Thank you for keeping your words and being the real you @Charles_forex09 on IG
Good insurance company, new startup, and descent rates (don't go well in same sentence HaHaH) ... try getting an insurance agent, who will shop around for you . . . Progressive Insurance, is usually a good starting point
Can I start my own authority while I'm still employed with another company? If your authority needs a minimum amount of time to pull certain loads I want to start it up now then.
I work in audio visuals....A lot of these companies use box trucks to transport gear to and from shows. It may be a good idea to reach out to a few in your area...
That's a good idea but when you have no load to return with your stuck. Unless your willing to run back empty. I own my own company as well trailers are fairly inexpensive. Not knocking your style Bro but what that is is mainly short hauls 300 miles out & back. But good info for those just getting into trucking..
The power loads I’ve found typically have an empty trailer to bring back and if they didn’t, the load pays for road trip anyway...I’ll be posting more videos going more in depth of those power only loads. This video was just a quick overview of the technique of finding the work. I do appreciate the feedback from experienced owners like yourself tho.
@@TruckingFromScratch oh ok that makes more sense with the trailer coming back. Again good info Bro & wasn't knocking your style. I've been in trucking for 28yrs had my own company back in 99 to 04. Thanks again bro. I just recently found out about "Load Out" power only. Getting paid twice.. I'm sure you know what im referring to. And, you are 100% correct, most people will not try it. They think it's too much of a process. A lot of people want instant success.
When Amazon opened up in Baltimore a few years ago, there was long wait times for your load. I'm not sure what's happening now. They also advertise on Instagram. I'm pretty sure you need at least three trucks to run. Have you been on the website?
