Just got the DRS-NV, it's not the dual tube we ran in the Corps, but this is goin' on a PTR-9c with it's best friend the Dead Air Wolfman. With the permanently installed PTR rail, this heavy optic may as well be an RMR. It ain't goin' anywhere once I zero it (them). Gotta' love it. Semper Fi.🇺🇲
There are different height over bore for the red dot and the night vision camera (4" vs 2.5"). You need to independently zero your reticles. It'll also want an illuminator for very dark days. Surefire vampire works well.
I want a thermal or night vision on my Garand while keeping the iron sights. Using a forward or scout scope mount on the Garand is there enough long eye relief for either of these Holo Suns to work? What is the eye relief on these units?
I don’t think there would be enough eye relief to run this that far out. That’s about 5 inches farther out than I run mine. Held it up to my M1 and wouldn’t try it myself.
Can you run the digital reticle along side the red dot without having NV on? If so do they have sperate zeros? I kinda want to use this as a super/sub optic.
I picked up the night vision one last week and put it on my SCAR with a 3x magnifier. It’s pretty dope - now I wish I could find the Thermal one somewhere (oh, and a place I can shoot in the dark, lol).
would a magnifier work behind one of these while on NV mode?? im really thrown off, i was thinking hard about buying one in the next two weeks but im not sure, i don't know if i should just wait for the thermal to come back in stock. that said i do have a zenitco persk doing nothing on my bcm right now, & i believe that would work out in front of this in IR laser mode. from what im gathering people are saying for the most part its best if you need a quick look around out to 100yrds etc. but really wouldn't use it past that, which is fine for me since im in the urban jungle

No, if it’s on, the picture from the camera is superimposed on the closed front lens cover. That would be cool if you could though

Not sure how well it would work. Would probably just make the image more pixelated especially out past 2x zoom on the optic.

My indicator flashes red not blue, what does that mean? I see yours was blue or flashing blue but mine is red
