    Wtf? No thumbs up? I don't think I can start my day without it. Also, I can't start my day without my Liberty overalls. They're the best and that's the only color I wear. Great video brother! I love how you over build everything so you never see it again.

    Those were some slick torch cuts. Your videos are always cool to watch. Very informative and definitely one of the best Welders/Fabricators on TH-cam. Thanks for the content.

    Look up King of the Obsolete and he runs some older dozers in Northern Canada, he puts a block of wood for the top idler and also has tracks with holes in them. This is done to run in snow/ cold weather like below zero.

    Awesome videos Clayton common sense approach to everything you do. I am a dairy farmer that would rather be welding and fabricating. Is there opportunities out there? 48 years old and not afraid of work.

    • @NBSWELDING

      Really depends on where your located.
      Working the jobs I do for different people and businesses is enjoyable but it doesn't pay very well...many things these days can be replaced for less money than it cost to repair them and make a decent hourly rate doing it...many things can be bought for less money than it cost to build them from scratch also.
      I get by because I made good money for the 22 years I stayed hooked up serving gas companies in the drilling industry and I paid off everything I own during those years.
      If you get hooked up with one single outfit that will work you every week no matter if they need you or not it's more profitable...but if your gonna do that there is really no point in dealing with the downfalls of being self employed...if your gonna stay busy with one outfit then you should really get a job with health insurance benefits and a retirement plan...those things are difficult and nearly impossible to afford if your a self employed one man operation.
      In a booming city a welding service could potentially do much better

    Your job and you know the situation. I think I would have pulled the pins and retracted the rod for better access if that was an option. Do you have a real preference between the Hobart and Lincoln wires?

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well, here's the three things to consider that lead me to not being able to get what I want.
      My favorite diameter flux core is .068"....and for easy portability of the wire feeder I want that on a 10 to 12 pound spool...my favorite flux core wire is Hobart Fabshield 21B....BUT...Fabshield 21B is not available in .068" diameter on a 10 pound spool
      I can get Fabshield 21B on a 10 pound spool in .045" and my local weld supply keeps stock of Lincoln NR-211 in .068" diameter on a 25 pound spool.
      Best diameter-.068"
      Best type-Hobart Fabshield 21B
      Best spool size-10#

      @LoBeau53 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@NBSWELDING thanks for the response. Good info. Personally, I am partial to .045 and have burned miles of the old Hobart vision after they bought the technology from Corex . I am 70 years old and have been out of the loop for 15 years so the technology and trade names have changed

      Doing good thanks...I've got shin splints that are keeping me from running but other than that I'm well...I'd feel even better if I could go run 3 to 5 miles but I'm not sure what the future will hold with my running...some people say if you develop shin splints you gotta quit running forever...I'm soaking my lower legs in ice water 2 to 3 times per day now and hoping to heal up enough to return to running....time will tell...thanks for asking...I hope you and yours are doing well

    Should I weld Flux core on reverse polarity?

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Reverse polarity is electrode/gun positive...flux core does not run that way.
      Run flux core with the gun negative...that is critical for it to work...your ground clamp/work clamp will be positive.
      If you ever try to run flux core with the gun positive it will look like the wire is burning up in mid air before it even makes contact with the base metal

    Looked like the second day went a touch smoother. that’s good, it sucks when it’s frozen out but I guess it makes the mud not so bad and incentive to work faster to stay warm. I did like that idea of putting the gloves on the welder engine when you don’t have the truck or equipment running to do it. I’ll have to keep that in mind.

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yea Buddy just make sure the gloves are secure to stay away from the exhaust manifold or any contact with hot steel parts.
      Keep a bind on it Buddy

    Looks like metal fitigue enhanced by small guage metal ,, ive been in heavy equiptment business for 50 years maybe not as pretty as C B ,S but a one man ban welder mechanic all owner operator big dozers loaders excavators an all that i know from experence the manufacturer didn't use heavy enough gauge metal that's the reason for cracks cheap poor engineering,, should replate around pins 5/8 metal or 3/4
