He wasn’t world class. At least with Ruben we are not as open. The goals we are conceding are from stupid errors and set pieces. With ETH it was just kamikaze football leaving spaces everywhere. It was ridiculous. Not to mention he would persist with the likes of rashford week after week when they weren’t playing well and we can’t forget the utter amount of garbage transfers he brought in. He’s definitely not a terrible manager. But he had to go
Congratulations for Sky panelists for trotting out the same cliches for 3 months now. Massive respect. 14th in the league. At the end of the day it’s about winning football matches for this football club. Outstanding insight.
Tim Sherwood saying United are worse under Amorim is laughable. Amorim walked into a disaster no squad balance, no discipline, no direction. Fixing that takes time, something Sherwood clearly doesn’t understand. Coming from a manager whose career was built on failure and excuses, his opinion means nothing. Sherwood couldn’t build a team if his life depended on it, so he’s the last person who should be judging anyone. Stick to the pundit chair, Tim it’s the only place where your failures don’t matter.
Ten Hag won because he adapted to the players style not that they were terrific, bunch of lazy power driven players they want coaches to play their style. We know these things and Amorim a coach with high intelligence figured out this horrific side of our players, they wants to pressurise him to carve in. He outsmarted them long ago. These journalists are jokers
If Manchester United have gotten worse in such a short space of time, that’s nothing to do with the Manager it’s clearly the players. Just like a “new manager bounce” isn’t actually to do with the manager, it’s the players reacting to a new face which eventually fades away. The players are unable to take any accountability with the worst one being Rashford
United over the last decade... Moyes is the problem sack him Van Gaal is the problem sack him Mourinho is the problem sack him Solskjaer is the problem sack him Ten Haag is the problem sack him. Amorim new manager same sack him? Just goes to show it was never the manager, keep sacking managers don't work it just made things worse Stupid incompetent owners and hierarchy don't know what they doing.
They don't give managers time they keep sacking them, back to square one every time, different manager different style, players don't know if they're coming or going 🙄 they don't know how to run a club. They not even listened to Sir Alex. Totally incompetent make you sick 🤮
Tim Sherwood said a few weeks ago that Forest will still be more concerned with avoiding relegation than staying in the top 6. I wonder sometimes if he knows anything at all about football.
I mean that's definitely not true...at all. Tactics and formations are an absolutely enormous part of the game and certain players clearly won't fit in certain systems no matter how much effort they put in. Amorim seems like a really talented manager but his formation needs specific players and Utd clearly don't have those players for it right now regardless of how untalented they are or how little effort they put in. They need a complete rebuild.
@@benzo9059you could not be more wrong. The biggest argument against what you said is his work in Sporting. As a sporting fan I assisted the transformation he did in the club. It was never about the system, rather about quality and good mentality. Ruben vinagre is an example of lack of talent and quality for sporting so he was sent away. Slimani was an example of lack of mentality so he was sent away as well. We were champions in 2021 with a squad that "on paper" did not have a lot of quality (specially when compared to Benfica and Porto that year), but the players absolutely ate the grass every game. Mentality was what won us the championship that year - I lost count to the number of matches we turned around that year So again, it is really not about the system and formation. Amorim is, as he already did in Sporting, creating a squad with players who have the mentality for United's objectives, so the spoiled kids he has in the locker room should leave the club, but that is something which is hard to accept by a lot of people, specially when the spoiled kids cost hundreds of millions of pounds...
Sherwood normally is fair but I had to bounce out of this video after 90 seconds as they have clearly told him to stick it on Amorim. There is huge context behind why the results are bad. Sherwood knows this but chooses to ignore it.
They criticized Ten Hag for going for small trophies while not incorporating an identity for the long term, now they are criticizing Amorim for focusing on giving them an identity over going for pragmatic short term victories. The British media is truly pathetic.
'Ripped apart by Wolves'. Are you kidding me!? What's with this media crusade against United? You can tell that none of these pundits have even watched United's recent games and have just looked at the scoreline. Morons.
It’s always been about the players, overhyped, overpaid and no motivation or desire. That’s what you get under a Glazer ownership. It’s the Glazers you pundits should be talking about.
The same people who said give him time are on bis back straight away. Tim Sherwood couldn't kick snow off a rope the sooner hes gone from Sky the better hes a dope. I doubt hes watched every game united have played like us fans so he should shut his mouth
Amorims job is to restructure the club the culture and the academy not win games immediately he’s had no time for training or coaching he was very very clear about what he is doing
A lot of people here in the comments thinks keeping possession of the football is "controlling" a game. A team can control a game without possession. Teams are smart enough to let you have possession in certain areas of the pitch or certain players have the ball. Those that are claiming Utd have had more possession....so what? What meaningful things have they done with the possession of the ball
I think focusing on one person or issue is the first mistake. The club appears to have so many problems its not just down to one. 1. I dont believe this is Amorins time. 2. Most of the players are overated and overpaid. 3. Bruno is not a captain but no one else is either. 4. Because the players pay and contracts swing in their favour they dont care either way. 5. The owners simply havent restructed the club for the modern challanges. 6. Grounds are falling apart. 7. The culture in the club is toxic 8. There never appears to be a real bond with any of the players. 9. Having a previous manager win two cups and still getting sacked is definitely a problem. 10. When this club was successful it was only them and Chelsea who could really spend money so kinda scewed their dominance in that sense. Clubs are now much better challangers with or without money. 11. Outside influences i.e. ex players and managers affect the way things are done and how players respond. 12. The club financially is running out of wiggle room. I dont see Amorin taking this club back to the heights they were once at even if hes allowed to spend because its more than just winning a few games to become a massive club again. To consistently achieve greatness everything has to be spot on.
Can the media please stop making “formation” excuses for useless, gutless grown men. For the last few years the only formation that these players managed was a straight line when they come onto the pitch. Being tackled immediately that you receive the ball, not being able to pass to a team mate (even though they’ve showed no signs of wanting the ball) and flicking it anywhere just so that you don’t have do anything strenuous has got nothing to do with whatever formation that you’re playing. Take my teams shirt off and go and ponce about in Saudi or the USA.
Rúben Amorim’s Manchester United win ratios after the first 11 games: 1. Erik ten Hag: 7 wins from 11 games = 63.6% 2. Ole Gunnar Solskjær: 6 wins from 11 games = 54.5% 3. Rúben Amorim: 4 wins from 11 games = 36.36%
They have shown a more distinctive style of play. Better possession and teams are not creating as many chances. Granted the results should be better however I do see better patterns.
Be patient and see who he brings in first during the January transfer window, get rid of the ones not performing, freshen the team with new and loanees and see if there's an improvement.
The problem is that when a coach is overhyped, as the media and everyone else did with Amorim, expectations are high and when they are not met it leads to disappointment. Don't get me wrong, Amorim is not a bad coach, but those who expected him to come in and suddenly start winning every game are delusional. To be honest, I would have kept Van Nistelrooy until the end of this season and then decided whether to bring Amorim or not, depending on how good the results had been under him.
They’re controlling games with possession now which is much better than anytime before! Okay the defence has been leaking needlessly but they’re playing a lot better than pre-Amorim.
Stuck on the same criticism from ETH time. You can’t see patterns and you coached a premier league team? Utd’s results have been terrible, but don’t start a write off of the manager before he has had a chance.
Players have been in cruise control for so long there is little Amorim can do. Most of the team are on such massive lucrative contracts their attitude is if you want me out pay me off but the club have burnt through so much money the barrell is dry and no other clubs can afford them.
Utd need to screen the players mentality, not only their skills. Will the incoming players be able to bear the current pathetic pressure of the club, expectations the Club have with its glorious history and the badge that is going to be very heavy. A player who would give heart and mind for the club.
Man Utd were a big fish in a small pond during their halcyon era but that is no longer the case now. Amorim may well improve his team but that by itself would not be enough.
@@arsenalogist4285 hahahahah!!! ETH adapted to their so-called strengths and they threw him under the bus. They are just lazy players. A player is supposed to be versatile. They failed OGS, VAN GAAL, MOURINHO AND RUBEN

As a Leicester fan ill always have a love for Kasper Schmeichel but his dad was an absolute monster , strojer fets in his way he'd jist go through them to get the ball 😂😂 If he can ve convinced to come I'd say look at Jan Oblak or someone similar.
You man united fans are a joke instead of blaming the managers 24/7 how about take a minute to think about the fact you have a squad that doesn’t want to put any effort in no point looking for good managers when you have a poor squad
When people say he needs more time , I don’t know what they mean . He has one of the best groups of players , they lost the last five games !! If you cannot win a game then you can’t handle it.
What qualifies Tim Sherwood to be a pundit? What were his achievements as a coach? Most of these networks would have a rethink if we (the targeted audience) can quench or replace our hunger for "who said what?" with "objective stats". It's a fact that MU have lost matches since Amorin's appointment but the team's key performance indicators (possession, shots on target, final third entries, etc.,) have been on the rise (opta, and others). Any seed (when planted) will take some time to grow... It's too early to draw conclusions on Amorin. Manchester United faithfuls can see a positive style of play (and better days ahead), and can also see the now familiar attempt by the same pundits who have always led the clamour for coach/manager replacement. Recent results have been disappointing but the club/team is improving and will continue to do so under Amorin.
Amorim knows this season is a write off and is therefore using it to experiment and find out his best team. He’s not had a transfer window or a pre-Season.
I have no clue why United got rid of Ten Hag. The squad are players that they bought to allow ETH to build. There’s nothing wrong with the squad, everyone said they were fine before, just the system wasn’t there. What’s concerning for me is Amorim openly said he would be happy to be fired if the club paid his termination fee, that’s shocking, basically a loser mentality.
Individual errors and not taking chances isn’t on the manager. They were outplayed under ETH most weeks created little and difficult to watch. Not having a left back for the last two seasons and buying 2 strikers for £100m between them who have barely scored 20 goals between them in the last few seasons is ridiculous. Give the bloke a chance.

But he had to go
@@Stm1054and free falling towards relegation now under Ruben
@@richyclubsport5155ETH left the team in 13 and they are currently in 14 so there is no free fall there.
LVG warned him
Ten hag had plenty of time to build a good team and he didn't, he had the backing of the club and only brought rubbish players
ETH won 2 trophies and got to finals with this bunch of garbage.
Meaning?
Meaning he still won two Trophies and got paid off 15mill to go home and watch this Joke continue
he's laughing somewhere Hard
He bought the garbage.
Guy why are we blaming 10hag? We all knw united managers never get 1st choice players 😢
What's the point of beating Spurs in the Carabao Cup Quarter Final where we'd have absolutely NO chance against Liverpool over 2 legs in the Semis?
Another informative unbiased Man Utd review by sky
United is controlling more possession. Had 50 % possession away to City.
Leicester managed 63% in the second half today against city and that's Leicester
Shameless using City to make a statement this season 😂
United over the last decade...
Moyes is the problem sack him
Van Gaal is the problem sack him
Mourinho is the problem sack him
Solskjaer is the problem sack him
Ten Haag is the problem sack him.
Amorim new manager same sack him?
Just goes to show it was never the manager, keep sacking managers don't work it just made things worse Stupid incompetent owners and hierarchy don't know what they doing.
Totally. bad players being paid a fortune
They don't give managers time they keep sacking them, back to square one every time, different manager different style, players don't know if they're coming or going 🙄 they don't know how to run a club. They not even listened to Sir Alex. Totally incompetent make you sick 🤮
They quick to judge Amorim when they've literally said he needs more time, these people are bunch of chops honestly. Opinion without accountability.
Tim Sherwood said a few weeks ago that Forest will still be more concerned with avoiding relegation than staying in the top 6. I wonder sometimes if he knows anything at all about football.
Anyone who has captained a side to a Premier league title knows football.
Formations are irrelevant. It comes down to talent and effort.
Mentality was what won us the championship that year - I lost count to the number of matches we turned around that year
So again, it is really not about the system and formation.
Stop complaining. Give the manager time to get things together before all this scrutiny.
Morons.
I suppose asking a man who made not one but two separate teams worse is kind of a qualification to discuss the subject
Amorim has been poor without that derby win let's be real United would have been in the dumps...
For the first time in about 5 years, I can see an idea in how we play rather than moments
An idea on how to play in the championship
The team is playing better we just don't have goal scorers
So new strikers and new goal keeeper and replace masrauii. I believe they Can be top tier
Amorim has exposed the mess. He needs time. He’s had no time on the training ground
It’s always been about the players, overhyped, overpaid and no motivation or desire. That’s what you get under a Glazer ownership. It’s the Glazers you pundits should be talking about.
He realized the prem is not as easy as he thought
Solution is an overhaul, bring in the youth squad like Ferguson did and build
Team around them, we don’t need new players.
It’s not the managers that suck, it’s the players 🥶
The same people who said give him time are on bis back straight away. Tim Sherwood couldn't kick snow off a rope the sooner hes gone from Sky the better hes a dope. I doubt hes watched every game united have played like us fans so he should shut his mouth
He's inherited the worst Utd squad ever assembled. I feel sorry for him.
Bring in youngsters
Amorims job is to restructure the club the culture and the academy not win games immediately he’s had no time for training or coaching he was very very clear about what he is doing
Why would you let the best goalkeeper in the premier league leave ?
Golden glove winner
He was mistake prone like our current keeper. The only solid keepers we've had was Peter and Edwin. Safe hands with excellent communication.
What has sherwood ever achieved in management sod all and not much more playing wise either
What kinda question is this sky talking rubbish again
7. The culture in the club is toxic
He didn’t want to start until end of season so he had more time training but Utd wanted him now
Sherwood should not be allowed anywhere near a microphone. What a low voltage individual!
Spare a thought for my boy Craig 🙏🏻 yardball specialist
Can the media please stop making “formation” excuses for useless, gutless grown men. For the last few years the only formation that these players managed was a straight line when they come onto the pitch. Being tackled immediately that you receive the ball, not being able to pass to a team mate (even though they’ve showed no signs of wanting the ball) and flicking it anywhere just so that you don’t have do anything strenuous has got nothing to do with whatever formation that you’re playing. Take my teams shirt off and go and ponce about in Saudi or the USA.
Rúben Amorim’s Manchester United win ratios after the first 11 games:
1. Erik ten Hag: 7 wins from 11 games
= 63.6%
2. Ole Gunnar Solskjær: 6 wins from 11 games = 54.5%
3. Rúben Amorim: 4 wins from 11 games = 36.36%
There's a reason why Tim sherwood never made it as a manager.
It's better to be worse than to have a descent performance everytime,,, this will unfold the exact problem and will be easy to figure out the solution
They have shown a more distinctive style of play. Better possession and teams are not creating as many chances. Granted the results should be better however I do see better patterns.
As a Man United fan I can see a the idea he talk bout ….I’m glad this happened earlier rather than later …..Now We/The Club see where it needs fix
Players have downed tools because they are either out off contract or know they will be sold at the end off the season. Bruno wants out.
Tim Sherwood’s on point. Can’t expect players to only play one way, Amorim needs to communicate what’s required.
proof that its not only Sherwood who is a complete clown
i was confident on amorim before and now tim has made me sure that he'll be incredible for utd
The problem is not the manager, the team as a whole gat to be rebuilt it won't be a surprise that they could be relegated this season or the next
Sherwood commenting so much and made it sound like its so easy to do within a short span of time. Absolutely mind blowing.
Players have been in cruise control for so long there is little Amorim can do. Most of the team are on such massive lucrative contracts their attitude is if you want me out pay me off but the club have burnt through so much money the barrell is dry and no other clubs can afford them.
I’ll literally laugh my tits off if they get relegated
Utd need to screen the players mentality, not only their skills. Will the incoming players be able to bear the current pathetic pressure of the club, expectations the Club have with its glorious history and the badge that is going to be very heavy. A player who would give heart and mind for the club.
Man Utd were a big fish in a small pond during their halcyon era but that is no longer the case now.
Amorim may well improve his team but that by itself would not be enough.
Why ask Sherwood who knows nothing? You guys talk too much. The English Media will hype an average English player but vilify a hardworking coach.
Hardworking coach whose not adapting to his players?
@@arsenalogist4285 hahahahah!!! ETH adapted to their so-called strengths and they threw him under the bus. They are just lazy players. A player is supposed to be versatile. They failed OGS, VAN GAAL, MOURINHO AND RUBEN
So when Keane gets sent off all the time as a captain "he's a legend" but when it's bruno "he's an idiot"
He only got a second yellow of a dalot sloppy pass lmao
A fine balanced panel you have there, Sky Sports.
As a 40 year old American who doesn't keep up with soccer at all kust check out highlights every other day I can see that these man u players are not good. No chemistry. I grew up watching the best in the premier league from here in the usa 10 years ago. Now in 2024 I see a huge drop in quality
Onana meeds replacing, decent enough keeper but doesn't inspire confidence in the defense.
As a Leicester fan ill always have a love for Kasper Schmeichel but his dad was an absolute monster , strojer fets in his way he'd jist go through them to get the ball 😂😂
If he can ve convinced to come I'd say look at Jan Oblak or someone similar.
The players are clearly toxic and not trying to win
We have been worse since he joined tho we were really bad means it was harder to get worse but he managed
You man united fans are a joke instead of blaming the managers 24/7 how about take a minute to think about the fact you have a squad that doesn’t want to put any effort in no point looking for good managers when you have a poor squad
Amorim is AVB 2.0
Let's be honest the players are very poor. They need so many new players in so many places.
Neither the players or even Amorim care about the losses. They’re all so overpaid nothing matters.
Here we go. Media putting the pressure on the manager already.
Can’t blame managers at this point the club just has some serious rebuilding to do and that will take a few years
Individual errors and not taking chances isn’t on the manager.
They were outplayed under ETH most weeks created little and difficult to watch.
Not having a left back for the last two seasons and buying 2 strikers for £100m between them who have barely scored 20 goals between them in the last few seasons is ridiculous.
Give the bloke a chance.
