That's what i thought I'd do, too. Turned out because I always use quick save everything close to that point had been overwritten. Only option would have been losing like 5 hours of progress, so i just had to accept it.
I managed to go into this game completely blind. I just committed to Sarah right before this happened and I stayed in character and chose to stay at the lodge. At first I didn’t really like her but she grew on me and this is first character death in a long while that actually made me feel something. Something about getting close to her and her dying after finally letting her guard down really got to me. I usually don’t feel too emotional when playing games but as soon as I saw that medicine speech check my eyes got watery and I had my sights set on the hunter lol Didn’t expect Bethesda of all companies to make me feel something especially with all the bugs I’ve had to deal with
I feel you, I spent so much effort trying to get Andreja and I finally romanced her and committed, did this quest and then got to the Eye and saw that harrowing scene. I literally turned the game off and had to spend an hour or so thinking about what just happened. I was in disbelief and I vowed to end the Hunter, I wont even listen to his dialogue, there is nothing he can say that will save him from my wrath. Props to Bethesda for this writing.
My first instinct was to go to her but I hesitated and tried to save Walter. Then the hunter killed me and it reloaded. That time I went to the eye and was surprised I saved her. I wasn’t expecting what I saw when I came back though
I don’t get upset over npc deaths. Sarah was cool right off the bat, and I was like oh yeah I’m gonna tap that. Honestly, when they said the eye was under attack and I only had a choice between the lodge and eye I had to pause my game for about 10 minutes and think. So Sarah’s dead a day after we married and this shit actually made me feel sad. That being said, this shit has such good story potential. Revenge trip. I want to go back, but I’m not going to.

From a story perspective, I feel like Sarah dying makes the most sense and is also the most painful, especially if you’re a male character. Not only did the Spacefarer lose a friend they had become very close to and were potentially flirting with, but Constellation has just lost their *leader*.
Fits the regrets she tells you about too, (if you get close to her and learn about what she did) the bad choices she made, she would feel its deserved.
It’s crazy. I literally just completed her questline and married her several hours before her death. It’s something I never expected from bethesda. Crazy how good this game is
I wanted to save her, but it felt wrong to just abandon people knowing that the hunter was going for them. At this point you didn't even know if she was still alive or not, so it was better to save those who could you save yourself.
The tricky part of being married to Sarah and losing her due to your decisions is that the game gives no acknowledgment of your marriage at her death and treats it like your relationship meant nothing, that needs to change in a future update because it's unrealistic and destroys the immersion not to mention the loss you feel.
Sarah's death hit me quite hard. Her being my companion throughout my missions she had a soft spot on me and eventually married her. It got by highest and second highest affinity. Highest affinity will be on the Eye. Second highest will be at the Lodge. Whichever you stay at, the other will die
I don’t get it. Mine was so different. I went up to The Eye. Saved every there (Sam, Cora, Vladimir, Barrett, Vasco & Andreja). In The Lodge, I had Sarah, Matteo, Noel & Walter. Sarah died. Everyone else lived. In all the other game articles etc, I saw that Barrett died…. I reloaded my save & made the choice to defend the Lodge. Then only Sam died on The Eye. Barrett always lived (I never took him on my crew). I ended up going with Sarah dying, because Sam is awesome & I adore Cora.
I had the exact same scenario. Sam is a freestar bro and a good dad. No way was I leaving him on the eye to die. Sarah dying felt like the canon way for this game to go at least for me.

The way it works is your active Companion will be with you at The Lodge. The other 3 will be on The Eye. Whoever you have the highest Affinity is in danger, there. For most players, that is, by default, going to be Sarah or Sam. Barrett or Andreja are targets, too. Either choice you make, The Hunter will chase you through The Well to your ship. While it is possible to defeat him, it's a tough go. Even if you are combat specced and god geared. Choosing The Lodge is the messier option. Lots of civilians. I think it is the "right" option in most cases. It is possible to max most, if not all, companion Affinities before this battle. All 4 are interesting. Good backstories. Unfortunately, some of their Affinity tags are whacked. This is common in Bethesda games and typically takes years of patches to get fixed. Fallout 4 still has tags of Dislike or Hate when the comp actually liked the action.
What? Barrett dies too? Man, fuck this game. Sarah and Barrett are my people. Watching him holding Sarah lifeless body on the Eye broke me. You can feel the pain in his voice. I’ve never felt this devastated since RDR2.

Once I finished sotry and got back lodge it was to weird to see her after too many hours.I said her everything. It was a success that bethesda gave weird multiple universe sense. Also I should admit first time ever i felt NPCs as my friend in a Bethesda game. I feel constellation like RDR2s Wanderlinde Crew, especially Sarah morgan, walter, sam and his child was so fun.

I was married to Sam in the game when this happened! Kicked my ass to no end and brought back some painful memories for me because I had a lover killed in the past for real! Sam was very attentive and caring all the time and an awesome companion in a fight and with exploring because he loved it so much and hated it every time we stopped interacting. If I had known, I could have saved him I would have done anything to make that happen!

Out of the two people you are closest to, whoever you aren't with during this mission will die. I think Vlad intentionally splits you up earlier. Sarah just died for me, that was shocking. We had a nice moment rescuing some kid, declaring our love for each other. I did go on to try and bang Andreja after that, but Vlad put us together when he brought Sarah to the eye. It's lonely out there, a spaceman has needs... I did have an activity from her for a few hours wanting to talk, I guess I'll never know what she wanted to say. It's a bit gutting, didn't think Bethesda could illicit this in me. I loaded an older save and tried to save Sarah, but that resulted in Andreja dying at the lodge. I'd have to replay almost two hours to save Sarah, so not only do I not want to do that, I feel that her death is canon. On top of sleeping together, Andreaj and I will seek vengeance for her.
You're right. I'd just married Sam before he died. The mission made me complete Sam's personal questline before continuing. Now Cora hates me & I'm a widow. I guess I could save him, but I don't wanna lose Barrett. I only romanced him for the extra XP

The whole point for this game now is to not only try and save both Sarah and Andreja but to romance them both at the same time foe the rest of the game.
@@jack_foster3050 yeah but I dont like saving after every mission, plus I’m not used to these games constantly, the last time I played f4 was forever ago so I dont save every time I pickup ammo which I feel like I shouldn’t have to. If I complete a mission or travel to a new planet it should auto save, but the games still out early and it usually does save when I achieve those things so I’m sure it was just a temporary bug I had or an issue

There is no way such an event irl would be a choice between such high consequences . - For the shutins whom spend most of their time licking self-inflicted wounds, this probably makes perfect sense. - in reality, humans huddle together in an existential crisis. Take the stupid thing you're after. Come after us, after getting what you want and theres nothing, but hate waiting for you.

have to admit that I am still pissed off at this twisted turn of events , I did think Sara died but but it is your life partner who gets flatlined! Sam . grr, it makes a mockery of all the effort put in to do the romance and blah blah some would say that the authors are just doing their job, injecting emotional triggers , to drive your response and mimic tough love life. Well I have to go back have a fling with a character I would not mind losing then start the romance with your chosen/. The story is really deep and incredibly involved like the whole scope of the game. I mean even at the ceremony, you get the option to end it in a heartachingly nasty scene. Says something about the minds of the writers. I'm only lvl 35 and so far I can't advance because I have two Starman killing me in the Well area. Ah well it's only a game. mega game. So I don't reckon you can take one char through ten playthroughs. A lot of options with a lot of characters. I swear Lin and Heller are acting like they are annoyed with me cause I have yet to get an Outpost to the stage necessary for them to be posted there. It's in the tone and the animation of the face and body. Makes me feel guilty. Hah R.I.P.
Why do I have to wait so long to watch her die? Should be able to dome this lady from the start and not have to suffer any of her whatsoever. The true ending is her death, where after no matter what happens at least your character does not have to deal with her ever again.

The story is really deep and incredibly involved like the whole scope of the game. I mean even at the ceremony, you get the option to end it in a heartachingly nasty scene. Says something about the minds of the writers. I'm only lvl 35 and so far I can't advance because I have two Starman killing me in the Well area. Ah well it's only a game. mega game. So I don't reckon you can take one char through ten playthroughs. A lot of options with a lot of characters. I swear Lin and Heller are acting like they are annoyed with me cause I have yet to get an Outpost to the stage necessary for them to be posted there. It's in the tone and the animation of the face and body. Makes me feel guilty. Hah R.I.P.

This video is pointless, Sarah is the least useful companion for your ship crew. She has to die. Plus her clothes look better on Andreja.
Why do I have to wait so long to watch her die? Should be able to dome this lady from the start and not have to suffer any of her whatsoever.
The true ending is her death, where after no matter what happens at least your character does not have to deal with her ever again.
