You mentioned that the line about the sleeping child may have come from a movie - there is a movie that heavily influenced the cinematic look of Season 1, to the point of visual callbacks, it's called "The Mountain" and it's about one of the doctors who traveled around doing the lobotomy procedure and his photographer. (The Wall of Smiles comes from this film for sure). There's a lot of lobotomy imagery in Season 1 and I'm kind of waiting to see if they do anything with it in Season 2.
Get your tinfoil hat ready for this one, Igor: so we know that Harmony Cobel is chipped, her name is on the wall of the security office as a person who's undergone the severance procedure. What if she's not chipped in the typical sense and instead she's Harmony Cobel while she's at Lumon but she's Charlotte Cobel when she leaves the office. They are still mother and daughter and Charlotte is dead but Charlotte is the digital version captured by the chip recording her life. The hospital bracelet we see says Charlotte Cobel d.o.b. 3-17-44, the picture of the pigtailed girl at Myrtle Eagan camp isn't Harmony, it's Charlotte. She would have been a child in the late 50's / early 60's which is when I think that photo is from. Think about the differences in the character at work and at home. At home she acts and dresses much older (and also wears the pigtails of her childhood), she's very maternal as indicated by her actions with the baby. Harmony hates what was done to her by Charlotte so she's interested in reintegration as a way to undo it, Charlotte is the Eagan cultist which is why she's desperate to save a company that just canned her. This also relates to what Jame Eagan says to Helena at the gala, "you'll be NEXT TO ME at my revolving". He means literally next to him in the same head. It's an immortality game. I also think the board are all digital composites of former CEO's which is why we don't see them physically. Pending results of the field test and legalisation of the procedure, they'll be back in bodies (maybe of Eagan descendants). Long story short, the Eagan family through Lumon is looking to create a population of devoted worker drones to see them as god-kings of a new utopia. Hence the 'Beehive' protocol.

I have to rewatch before S2 to see if it's a complete severance because the first time I watched it through, I was under the impression that although Harmony Cobel is chipped, she seems to remember things from the inside and from the outside at all times. Love the recycling idea! Just one thing about the “waking up questions”. Kier isn’t Helly’s Dad - Jame is. Kier is maybe a great or great great grandfather that she never met. So when Milchik tells her about Kier’s breakfast, she says “I heard” . Once we find out that Helly is an Eagan, this whole conversation is odd. Why would Milchik say it like this, does he really think he has more knowledge about Kier Eagan - than an Eagan family member? For me it shows that Milchik can’t converse off-script. Just like Mark who has to read the questions, even if they make no sense, I bet Milchik is doing the same. Every Innie has to be told the info about Kiers breakfast, so that later on they can see if the chip works or not. For me this is another clue about Milchik’s “robotic” behavior, he doesn’t know how to address Helly as an Eagan, he deals with her like any other innie. There are a couple of times where he catches himself and actually acknowledges that they are so grateful that an Eagan is working as an Innie - but even that feels scripted and he has no issues with punishing Helly anyway. Some people wonder if he is a clone as his behavior is so weird - but now I wonder: Is he “Recycled”? Is this why he has a different pin? 🤔 Anyway - great video as always!
A theory my sister came up with and makes a lot of sense too is that they could be recycling dead people or something like that as marks wife was supposed to be dead but not anymore and that could explain why mark is special to Lumon
13:00 Maybe that explains the goat department-it could be management training on how to raise “kids” aka baby goats. The goats are practice for running the severed departments and managing the severed employees, hence they are trained to be treated like children. It could also explain the lack of empathy towards the innies in general and even Milchick’s brazen attitude towards Dylan’s son.
I was thinking, blue and yellow make green. So, maybe the meaning of these colors within the world of Lumus is that something new is growing (green with the meaning of birth, like a sprout emerging), but in a sad and lifeless world. And the colors blue and red, in the external world, could signify that there’s still sadness outside (blue - thinking about what you said regarding 'recycling broken people'), but that there’s life in it (red). And, following your reasoning about the three beds, it might be a way to represent our three states of consciousness: id, ego, and superego, and how these states act in layers in our psyche, so that, subconsciously, certain events and experiences can be internalized, causing trauma (just like a sleeping child would subconsciously internalize the bed change, an adult detaching from themselves to work is also in a 'sleeping' state of consciousness). My theory is they actually make a copy of you inside your own brain, minus the “bad parts”. Except Helly’s bad part is the part in her other self. Her best part is the rebel in her innie. The “Tempers” are the things that are corrected in the copy. I think in the next season, Lumon is going to allow the Outies and Innies to communicate with each other, thus the “clone” you see in the trailers. That would make sense if they wanted to calm Dylan down after finding out he has a son. Finally, there are mines in each of those locations you mentioned. Is Kier on the site of a mining town? Those towns have the same qualities as what you see in Kier…they even use Tokens for food in Lumon. Also a nice pool of people…

I have a theory that there are many more of the characters that are severed, including Cobel, Milchick (his dialogs are somewhat juvenile), Graner, Natalie and even Ricken, Rebek & Patton as they all act and speak weird, while Devon, Alexa and June act more normal. Remember the severance procedure has been available for about 20 years at least, since Helly is 30 and her father talks about when she was little what she said about the chips. Also we know there are different "modes" of severance, so these people may be severed permanently, in the outside, Guinea pigs for the procedure. Also Ricken being severed could mean that at least part of him is collaborating with Lumon, and the book could be planted (the language in the book itself seems written by a severed person).
Leaving the book in the conference room and then forgetting about it seems like too big of a mistake to not be intentional. But it also serves the story well at face value for connecting Mark’s innie to Ricken so I’m not sure what was intended.
The question about brearfast tests short-time memory. Milchek had told Helly about Mr. Eagan's favoirite breakfast just before the severence procedure.
The survey questions are a test to see if the severed process has worked. Trainees should answer 'I don't know' to all questions except naming a state. The question about the breakfast is part of this because on the way to the elevator, Millchick tells Helena about Keir Egans favorite breakfast. They ask her what it is in the survey to make sure Helly R. doesn't know this.
I don’t think they’re creating new people but I do agree the refinement is some sort of Manchurian Candidate MK Ultra thing because we know regular people have chips, not just the Lumon employees! It’s kind of like playing the sims where the Innies are helping to regulate chips that are online while they’re working
For me the question is Mark's wife. I think they testing bringing back dead people as free labor. Also for personnel who work at the office, if they get upset at work, they will not complain since once they leave because they totally forgot what happened at work. So they can make their personnel work long hours and physically punish them when they get in trouble.

I think they are deleting there outies memory's when they start to recognise a memory in the code they delete that memory. i think Mrs Cobel is Marks Mum. it would explain why Mrs Cobel went to visit Mark‘s sister(her daughter) and why the baby stopped crying straight away once Mrs Cobel held it👩👧👦

Mrs Cobel doesn’t wear anything. And in Season 1 Milchik is wearing the Lumon pin and in season 2 he is wearing the drop pin.
Milchik gave her the answer to the question about Mr Eagan so he probably gives it to all of them.
Rather than creating new humans, wouldn’t the child-like attributes be a by product of the severance procedure?
