I prefer to use my GL (Gravesinger’s Lament) full critical build (worked very hard to get that!). I’ll combine that with the Chain Burst valor surge when ambushed or attacked by a pack of clamberjaws (or other machines for that matter).
With the ancestors return, especially since apex baboons are weak to shock. can combine well with the aforementioned chainburst too, sometimes you get bad luck though and they spread out to much depending on the setting. Also their resource scanners tend to go first when throwing shredders at them so they can become susceptible to smokebombs.
Another great strat is using the Chain Burst Valor Surge and something like the Shock Shredders from the Ancestor's Return, you can both deal damage and shock all the Clamberjaws in an area quite fast.
This is awesome! I love that you don't just give the usual way to kill the machine. You give a couple different options. Really awesome and well done, Chaz!
I actually find it to be more effective to inflict Freeze first, THEN tie down the machine. Inflicting Freeze also stuns the machine for a moment, basically giving you a completely free tiedown shot, which for small/mid sized machines is all you need! No reason to waste amy of the Tiedown time on Freezing when you don't have to!
Besides being an easier target, removing the resource scanner also has the benefit of removing their immunity to smokebombs. Can save you in a pinch if youre overwhelmed and need to drop a smoke well into a fight.
TBH, I’m at 500+ hours and GL201, currently. I started off at story mode because I wasn’t any good playing the game (never having played ZD). Now, after having played on Very Hard for a long time, I’ve finished my 4th consecutive play through on ultra hard (not having any difficulty settings to show for in the menu really is the ultimate). If you want to rake up a lot of XP quickly, go on Large Machine hunting safaris: that helps a lot. Happy hunting! :-)
🐒 What is your favorite way to take out the Clamberjaw??? Be sure to let me know! 🙈

Thanks! Yeah I tried to switch it up a bit and not just do the same ol’ strategy for taking out every machine 😂
