You could certainly do that! I do think that needing to resolve your answer to manlands does come with a subset of problems, though, especially against control decks.
@@fpawluszmtg My thought was more like, "it looks as much like UW control as it looks like Deadguy Ale". Seeing the matches play out sort of conform it for me as well. The strength came a lot from White control. And it meshed very well with the other components. Biggest challenge might've been drawing business spells (which Dragon only does indirectly, leaving 2 Scrying fir actual draw).

I agree. A control deck that uses Vindicate just seems awesome in a format that's already a bit slow and which sees a big mix of creatures, artifacts and enchantments. Also Verdict being a sure 2 for 1 is intriguing. @@fpawluszmtg
I think that MTGO would not allow you to exile cards to pay for the cost, or it would only allow you to X=0. It was something along those lines.@@Rorschachqp
Damn, really asking the hard questions over here... If I can play Primeval Titan in a format pre-2022 then I save Prime Time. If I have to play today's Modern then I'd much rather leave happily ever after with my Angel in the Premodern sanctuary.
With the Junk version of the deck Landstill was close to a bye, and I expect that this deck would be fairly similar. Dragon + Decree is a great way to beat Landstill, and this deck pairs that with Duress and even Haunting Echoes. Armageddon is close to unbeatable, though, you're correct there.
@@milesgreb3537 1 drops are cards that cost 1 mana, not necessarily permanents. At least that's how I've heard it used in the many years I've been playing and streaming the game.
@@fpawluszmtg 1 drops are 1 mana active cards (mostly creatures, but they could be enchantments or artifact too I guess), not reactive cards. We could stretch a little bit this definition and say that duress is a 1 drop in this format because we almost never use it defensively, but it's kinda the limit of the definition. I'd rather say that the deck have answers from the first turn.
@@marcrabazagairi2650 Honestly I developed the deck over a couple of months through different iterations, and after I got it to a point where I thought it was a very solid choice (which also happens to be the cheapest deck in the entire format, which turned out to be a very nice bonus!) I basically stopped playing it. I still have it built at home, but haven't played or iterated on it for at least 6 months or so...

@@marcrabazagairi2650 Gracias! El mazo terminó siendo mejor de lo que esperaba, para ser sincero! Me parece que las optimizaciones que el mazo puede continuear recibiendo van a ser siempre dependientes de como evolucione el meta. Como todo mazo control, mientras más claro esté contra que mazos debe prepararse más éxito podrá tener.
Enchantress is not a Replenish deck, it's a deck that play 1 or at most 3 Replenishes. I already have Furnaces and Haunting Echoes, it gets to a point where I'd have too many cards that only interact with Replenish, and I may just end up dying to my opponent just casting their enchantments. I would probably bring in Tormod's ig I were playing other deck, or I could see an argument for bringing it over a Furnace as well.
For all of the reasons I explained while I played the match you can see why I don't agree. The fight happens on such an interesting axis, and what matters constantly changes as the game progresses. Being able to understand these shifts is extremely interesting to me. But if you don't like it then well, it's ok.
@@TheMaxZakh I have yet to find a Premodern deck I don't like to play against since I always find something cool or interesting about every matchup, but I can see people hating on Stasis. I just wish those folk would see and find all of these interesting things as cool as I do.

Basically this is UW control but the counters are swapped for discard and removal.
If every control deck is UW control then yes. This is a control deck, and that's what control decks do :P

How was it broken? I played this card since Odyssey in MBC and any other appropriate format deck.
@@Rorschachqp mtgo previously did not let you pay X mana when casting the card. So it did nothing.
I think that MTGO would not allow you to exile cards to pay for the cost, or it would only allow you to X=0. It was something along those lines.@@Rorschachqp

Sorry, but even though I enjoy playing against Stasis, it's not at all the kind of deck I'm interested in, so it's pretty unlikely I'll play it.
No consideration for Arena?
Definitely thought about it, but I don't want to turn on opposing Disenchants. Scrying just feels like a better fit for this deck.
Deck looks fun, but dont you just straight up get hosed by Mox Diamond decks and landstill? since you dont run arenas and have less strong t1 plays

I think so. Maybe somebody played it before me, but if they did I have no idea. I evolved it during my attempts to make Deadguy Ale a playable deck 😅

For all of the reasons I explained while I played the match you can see why I don't agree. The fight happens on such an interesting axis, and what matters constantly changes as the game progresses. Being able to understand these shifts is extremely interesting to me. But if you don't like it then well, it's ok.
@fpawluszmtg I always appreciate the content either way. Stasis is part of the meta and this version was more equipped for it for sure.
