I don't like the King, I don't think it solves any of the deck's problems. Even as an answer to Plague it's very unreliable and your opponent only needs a single removal to put you back in square one.
I like to play two copies of "Heart charm" in goblins. Amazing card, makes lackey is unblockable, kills Phyrexian shrimp, and on holidays can give all goblins +1
YES! That card is such a banger in the deck! Unfortunately I think that it competes for slots with Naturalize, and without Naturalize you simply cannot realistically beat the card Oath of Druids, but if Oath didn't exist I'd play some number of Charms
@@landmine9744 I thought that hitting land drops would be important with how the matchup was developing, and I also didn't know at the time whether I wanted to fetch for a G source eventually based on wanting to protect my G sources from Wasteland.
Glad to hear you're liking the videos! What to start with will depend on what you like to play. Literally every Magic archetype is viable in Premodern, so whatever you like to play in other formats will have a viable Premodern version. I do recommend to play a proactive deck as you are starting, since it doesn't require you to have such a deep understanding of the format (something like UW Landstill or The Rock really require you to know what the format is like and how to approach each matchup, making them harder to begin with). Best of luck in your Premodern quest! It truly is the best format Magic has to offer
I didnt understand why not kill plague spitter into block both baloths on the g3 of the last round. Probably would have lost anyway down the line, but still fighting. Edit: Was pawlusz thinking the baloths had trample?
@@fpawluszmtgI think I found the line: instead of playing SGC first, play prospector. Then play SGC and with the put token trigger on the stack, hold prio, and activate SGC ability saccing prospector to kill Plague Spitter. Your SGC takes one damage and lives. The tokens enter the battlefield after the damage and you have them to block baloths/treetop and live another turn with a SGC up to try to do something next turn. Hard, but a way. Super difficult line to see.
You can play on the freeform queues. There are often people playing just random games, and there is a community organized league that runs every other week.

The fact that they had Birds made me think that it was possible they were playing Factories, but yes, in hindsight I agree that it's very likely Domain is just the better card and I simply misboarded.

In Game 2 of Match 1 you decided to Matron for Ringleader but you could’ve cast Warchief first and then still played Matron for Ringleader.
It's very possible it was just a mistake on my part, though I don't remember the exact moment.

Edit: Was pawlusz thinking the baloths had trample?
Plague Spitter also deals 1 damage to everything when it dies, so if I kill the Spitter then I don't have blockers for the Baloths and Treetop.

Wouldn't Tranquil Domain be better than Naturalize vs. Rock? It's pretty rare they play Factory these days.

Hearth Charm and Emerald Charm (in Elves) are cards that really intrigue me, but Naturalize is just too good in this deck not to play.
