Hi Francisco, it has passed a while. I really liked your work with amulet and it kept me company for many hours. I wanted just to tell you that you gave me the inspiration to start my own amulet channel. I've few 4/1 leagues to post and i now understand all the work that you put behind every single video so i appreciate it even more. If you want to give a look every suggestion is appreciated. thank again man
Hey, that's awesome to hear! Unfortunately I kind of lost all interest in Modern as a format, but I'm happy you can now provide the Amulet content that folks crave. Best of luck with the channel!
Hahaha, yeah, this one is exactly up my alley and as soon as I saw it I knew that I was going to be playing it. Survival is quickly becoming my favorite card of all time.
Have you thought much about Dense Foliage? I ask because you deal with opposing creatures via you abilities as opposed to your spells (other than naturalize on an opposing dreadnought). Whereas your opponents mostly deal with your creatures with their spells (swords/bolt/naturalize). Dense Foliage also stops opposing dreadnoughts from being targeting with Vision Charm. Just a thought for green decks in general to play Dense Foliage. I'm curious what you think.
I honestly had no idea this card existed. I would probably be playing some number of copies if it cost 2, but at 3 it may be a tad too expensive. It's certainly a card I'll keep in mind in the future, however! I could see a deck, maybe with Sol Lands, that may care about having access to that sort of effect. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Anyone can explain to me please, why at 1:08:00 while siding vs pikula (g1 arena t1/g2 arena t2/t3) he said "thus decks have lot of enchants/artefacts." Ok so what is the reason to don't side in all 4 naturalize? Help please
There are a lot of things to balance in this deck: amount of artifacts for Welder, amount of creatures for Survival, amount of mana sources... I feel like I want to have access to Naturalize, but don't really want to draw multiples (since I also have access to Nantuko and Uktabi), so 2 or 3 is the maximum I'd want to have in my deck.
This deck looks very interesting and Thopter Squadron seems a very nice card. I think this is the deck where I would like to try a spicy Brass Herald, like it was an "Elvish Champion/Goblin Ringleader" (...at home) in some situations. (jokes aside, what do you think about playing a single Wirewood Symbiote, to play for example with Hermit like Elves do? And what about adding Spike Feeder to the side, good with Genesis against Sligh?) Thank you for your contents!
Thanks for the comments and happy to hear you're enjoying the content! We aren't really a tribal deck, so Brass Herald wouldn't be drawing too many cards, hahaha 😅 For the same reason, Symbiote would be pretty underwhelming (significantly harder to enable than Quirion Ranger). Spike Feeder is just worse Bottle Gnomes, cause Gnomes being an artifact is so valuable for Welder shenanigans. And even still, I think Gnomes is pretty mediocre/bad overall.
Colossus always felt to me like something you do after everything is going your way. At that point, I think even another Triskelion would be a better alternative. The Squadron actually helps stabilize and offers something the deck otherwise lacks, which is alternative ways of getting card advantage. Couple that with some other random synergies (with Cradle, Tangle Wire and most notably Goblin Sharpshooter) and it's easy to see why I think Squadron is an absolute slam dunk, and will be in every Survi Welder list I try in the future.
Always enjoy the videos, however there is always a bit of extra commentary on losses that could be construed as tilt as you go over the "what if" situations where you would/could have won. I'm not sure if that is just walking your mind/the audience through the events and double checking if there was any hindsight plays to improve, but certainly something I've noticed over multiple recordings. Just an observation on commentary, and surely I don't mean to assume the negative. Just wanted to bring to your attention how *I've* perceived it. You generally play well and sometimes there is nothing more to be said, the top of the deck is a fickle mistress. Cheers!
I do tend to do that. It's kind of a "stream of thought" thing, where I think about what I could have drawn or try to see if there is anything I could have done differently. I like debriefing like this after the match is over since by talking to myself I sometimes find things like weaknesses the deck may have and how to potentially fix them, or stuff like that. Sorry that you perceive it negatively!
I don't know what matchup you're talking about about, but a card randomly winning a game doesn't mean it's a card I expect to win me most games in the matchup. I don't mulligan thinking about what happened in game 1, I mulligan thinking about what I believe can happen in games 2 and 3.

this is the exact type of deck i most associate with you. ones where every turn there are like 20 viable options of what to do XD

Maybe next you will start brewing with its slightly weaker cousin Tortured Existence KAPPA@@fpawluszmtg
@@WLDFLD "Slightly weaker" is extremely generous of you, hahaha

I just found out about it too actually, I can see some applications. And I agree, a sol land deck might help make it functional.

I really like the addition of thoptor squadron. I have never been a fan of phyrexian colossus, the thoptors looks so much better

Weeeeeelder!!!!!!
One of the most fun decks in the format
The most premodernish way of losing is just misclicking a block :D
MTGO likes to keep me honest...
G1 win thanks to welder
G2 side out 1 welder....?!
