This is really inspiring. I was honestly thinking of selling my hypno, but now I want to try some of this things. Would love to see more of this kind of videos!
Awesome! Thank you! I don't think they are all optimized for loading on the Hypno via USB just yet but I have a task to go through all of the packs and do that soon. In the meantime, you can just use the 480pFast preset in HandBreak as discussed in the video.
I've read in the forums that the native Hypno is 720x480 and in this video you encoded to 640x480. Question - does pixel aspect ratio get considered? also, all the output of the 4x3 video you encoded seemed to be processed/displayed at 16x9 but not distorted. Any more insight on the image and pixel aspects appreciated. Thanks!
Great question! Basically, when I encoded at 640x480, the nature-videos rendered with black bars on the top and bottom since the aspect ratio was mismatched. The black bars ensured no distortion and they are easily cropped out using they Hypno's cropping and aspect correction functions (docs.sleepycircuits.com/hypno/hypno-manual - final page of the linked PDF). After further experimentation, it seems the Hypno also runs smoothly with videos loaded at 720x480, and this is now my preferred rendering resolution for anything Hypno-bound and wide screen (thus skipping the whole black bar thing).
@@SleepyCircuits Follow up - On older miniDV cameras that capture at 720x480, they have a function that can chage that resolution from 4x3 to 16x9 by changing the pixel aspect and not the resolution. no crop etc its just the interpretation of the pixel as 0.9 for 4x3 or 1.2 for 16x9. I'm curious of the Hypno has pixel aspect ratio of either or (or mayb uses 1.0 for square?). Thanks so much! I have my Hypno pre-ordered in the new batch coming and looking very forward to it.

Cheers Brian very good 👍
14:30 is my fav - great work:)
Lovely setting and really useful guide to your process. Just downloaded every video pack on the site. Time to play.

Wholesome video. Definitely getting a Hypno at some point.
Well guess it’s time to find a camera with a usb 🤓 can it be any usb camera? I love your music btw~ best wishes
This was just amazing and super inspiring! Saving for a hypno and really looking forward to trying this out eventually

Nice tutorial. Any chance we’ll be able to someday load 2 different videos/images simultaneously?
There is a chance, but it is not likely. We will continue to look into it.
are you guys getting a restock soon?
Hypno Kits are currently in stock. Prebuilt Hypnos will be in stock within roughly one week and you can reserve one now.
@@SleepyCircuits awesome thank you!
