The people who make the gears can provide you with correct backlash specifications. In 1975 I built a similar twin plate mounting two K&B 7.5 2-stroke Nitro burning engines for a model RC Boat. So fun today because of CNC machines. I used Martin Spur gears machined a taper into them to use a tapered collets locking them onto the .375” engine shaft. Love this enjoy
@innovation RC, I just want to personally thank you for the awesome and informative build. Between you and @Raz Shifrin, I can just watch your videos all day. Ill be honest, I see so many videos on Castle set ups that I dont really want to use them. So I am thinking of doing a build with Hobbywing equipment. Looks like it's going to be an awesome build. Im looking into motors for a kraton 8s exb roller, leaning towards the castle creations xlx2 1100 combo.Im finishing a 1/5 scale track, 3 laps is just over 1 mile and it's a fast track straight away speeds 55+, would that 1100kv be a good choice, if so what gearing should I go with, should I leave the spur gear that's in it from arrma I believe it's a 46 tooth or should I put the speed gear in 39 tooth. Thanks for the advice.
Id do some old school 2650s with a series parallel setup in a typhon or talion . Good luck with the build they dont always work the way you want . I literally got my pps mount 2 days ago and havent prepped my infraction with it yet im waiting til i can get the drive shafts i want . Thanks for showing it off!
Not much RC videos on twin motors out there. I'm not able to sync my twin motors moving both forward or backward but instead one spins forward and the other spins backward. Any ideas? Maybe I need better electronics that can support this? I'm using two Surpass 150A ESCs connected to a splitter to receiver with one of the red positive cable from one ESC not connected. I've only tried twice with same electronics but same outcome.
@@tharusbradley4651 you won't get the full performance with these motors if you go with anything from Spektrum. Equivalently, you can use any esc out there as long as it supports the voltage you desire to run with those motors. It will either perform horribly and likely blow up or work the motors at a fraction of their full potential. The Spektrum 160a esc can only dump 160 amps. That's a third of what you need amperage wise to get these motors to near/full potential... Consider you need an esc that supports the load these motors will put it through. Be careful.
@@InnovationRCthat may be true regarding performance and their full potential, which is a good thing for me. I am not looking to max out these motors, which is a lot safer for me. I wanted to keep my smart telemetry coupled with POWER and the SOUND of these TWIN MOTORS!!!!
@@tharusbradley4651 you are correct. Honestly the way you build it is completely subjective to how you want it to perform, so, what you said isn't wrong! If you built it how you like it. Then that's the best way to build it for yourself! Stay safe! 💪
Takes about 10-15m to dry. I was really wanting to push to not torque the metal parts b4 all the bolts are in so nothing binds when tightening. But yes if I wasn't recording I'd normally do it within a minute.
You can fit any 30mm big block motor. The largest motor I own is a TP 5870 series. You can run both of them. But this build won't use crazy big 58 series tp motors.
@@InnovationRC awesome. Im tryin to get some foams from gone bannas sent to AU so i can max out the 1717 set up first and but im going to start ordering parts, starting with that!
Torque is needed to push through the air at high speeds, keeping amps lower for the esc. These cars have the rpm, all day. Not the efficiency status yet. Very close as of now though!
@@InnovationRC That’s a good point, but I don’t know about rpm for days. Most Castle Creation motors are only good for a no load rpm of 58k; Cordova and TP Motors are hitting 60k and Lehner LMT motors are hitting 65k for 1/8-1/5 scale sized cans.
