I also love the detail the servant took the initiative to put zhang lei on the phone, togashi giving agency to a minor character who can’t even fight is such a sweet detail
Woah Kurapika accidentally blew through ~3yrs of his lifespan for basically no discernable value, I can’t imagine what that Degree of failure feels like haha 😂(😔)
I really enjoy your analysis, production, and sense of humor. AND you pronounce Tserriednich correctly? Subbed. Shifting to Kurapika as the main character was such a good decision. The Succession War, at the very least, needs a clever and analytical strategist to be the lead role. I also enjoy getting a deeper look into the mafia. Seeing that they are a serious point of influence, rather than just overconfident clowns that get dunked on, is really nice after the Spiders painted Yorknew red with them. Even though we're not seeing too many mafia people with calamitous power, they're smart enough to know when to maneuver, and it's a really interesting addition to the dynamic. Speaking of the Troupe, I would also really like to see them ally with Kurapika. I think they could still fall into conflict, but if Tserriednich and his associates were behind the atrocities that drive both parties, figuring that out could be a major step toward lasting peace between them. Also, Kurapika's character design for this arc is so fresh. It's cool to see him ditch the village garb for a suit to really drive home the change of atmosphere. The longer hair also works well.
A Kurapika/Spiders team-up is definitely the most interesting thing that can happen between them! I don't get the people who just want them to fight again.
@@ExtraOtter To be fair, I'd also enjoy seeing them go at it. Plus, a team-up between them would be more interesting if there's still distrust and hostility that can be used to potentially play them against each other. They probably won't just drop everything else for a deathmatch anymore, though, that's for sure.
I love the panel where Karina holds wobble in his arms it’s such a short but wonderful panel, all I saw was hope in Kurtis eye it was like a parent looking at there newborn and I think in the end Kurosawa will pick wobble over the yes and this may lead him into dropping the whole obsession with his family . Hey maybe wobbles mom dies and in the end Karina has to take care of wobble that be pretty dope
Kurapika might not have the drive for revenge against the Troupe but they will certantly have it for him when they eventually find out he is on board the ship. Especially with the Troupe's backstory and focus on Pakunoda and Uvo from the last bach, I feel like there might be a split in the Troups priorities between Hisoka and Kurapika eventually
When we last checked in, Phinks and Feitan were saying they had no reason to kill Kurapika because his Nen-after-death would just curse Chrollo. Has that factor really changed? If it has, why didn't the Troupe target Kurapika already? He's been staying in the same place this whole time, and frankly he'd be easy to kill if the Troupe decided together to do it.
@ExtraOtter That was against a chrollo that had no nen. I've always been under the assumption that without a specific hatsu in place to curse someone, an experienced nen user would be able to overcome the dregs of nen fueled by a users dying wishes. With a recovered Chrollo and the troups knowledge of Kurapika's abilities I wouldn't expect the risk of a post-mortem attack to stop them. Instead I'd offer that the timeline for Chrollo's exorcism, the duel with Hisoka, and now this more pressing revenge all happened in such a short span that Kurapika just isn't the no. 1 priority to find and kill. That might change when they find out he is on the ship with them. Nobunagas line and demeanor when finding out Kurapikas identity have always struck with me as being important for when the Troupe eventually catch up with Kurapika. He may have let go of the grudge but they have not and will not. "I'll remember your name and face until I kill you!"
@@TheZipher878 I think some Spiders may harbor a grudge for Uvogin's death, sure. But I don't think any timeline is so tight that they couldn't have found and dealt with Kurapika if they'd wanted. Like, Hisoka had time to find and kill Neon between his Heavens Arena fight and getting on the boat. It wouldn't even take a day for the full Troupe to blow down the door to the Nostrades and kill Kurapika whenever they wanted. So I naturally conclude they didn't want to.
Kurapika's a piece of work! When he tells Oito "Don't worry, you and Woble are my priority!" I think too many readers take it at face value. She should be suspicious-it's easy for him to say that while his real goal is still aligned with staying in the War as their guardian. (I had a tangent about this but cut it for time.) Obviously I do think he can change, but we probably aren't there yet.
2:33 oh my god I saw that person on tumblr in the wild years ago and I've had them blocked ever since. I don't know why that "theory" grates on me in such a specific way, but it doesn't help that they clearly value their ability to ship these characters over any canon events or overarching narrative.
I don't think it's like Kurapika gave up on his revenge. It's just that his first priority is to get the scarlet eyes and protect his friends. But the moment he learns that spiders are on the ship I'm pretty certain he will do whatever in his power to hunt the spiders. Also amazing video.
Very good video I just subscribed 🙏🏾 about the kurapika vs the troupe segment in the video do you really think that kurapika is truly over his revenge? yea it might have subsided as he learned an important lesson in the York new arc but him being face to face with the object of so much of his hatred might just cause him to regress or atleast throw him into more distress than he already is 🤷🏾♂️
I don't think he's best buds with the Spiders or anything, and knowing they're nearby would certainly throw him into distress! But, as Melody observed at the end of Yorknew, Kurapika (unwillingly) understood that Pakunoda was a human being who wanted to save her friend. I don't think killing her felt good and I don't think Kurapika's heart will ever be in it again for that sort of revenge. After all, he was careful not to kill any of the Eye collectors, who are pretty monstrous themselves and would be valid targets for a Kurta's vengeance.
could princes survive the succession war by revoking their royal status. King Nasubi went through his own succession war in the past and yet he has biological siblings. maybe the way to survive is just a few face scars.
Seems like Broccoli and Onior weren't in Nasubi's War since they weren't legitimate kids (like the situation Morena's in now). But it's an interesting point - could a prince be declared "illegitimate" after the War began? I have a feeling the Guardian Beasts might not hear you out.
To add to the whole point about the succession war not being some b plot, i honestly doubt we'll even get to the dc with the pace of the arc so far coupled with the fact that we're realistically like a quarter to a third of the way through. The only way i can see us getting there (without togashi's health magically getting fixed (nitro rice?) or someone else continuing it for him etc) is for the last part of the succession war to take place there. Like, only a couple of the princes left, last battle against tserriednich takes places there yada yada. idk it WOULD feel pretty anticlimactic never getting there, being left with some "the real dark continent was the journey all along" shit but we're pretty used to blue balls as hxh fans by now
I also love the detail the servant took the initiative to put zhang lei on the phone, togashi giving agency to a minor character who can’t even fight is such a sweet detail
This video’s got me real excited to see how everything gets resolved in 2054
Eat healthy!
Wobles spirit beast is going to summon a second kurapika as his spirit beast, calling it now
summon a second Bill instead and they'll sweep tier 1

I love this, very informative video and can't wait for the manga to return
I never even considered a Kurapika/Chrollo team up. Wow
Saw you on reddit. good stuff bro. I don't usually like this style of video but this is the best one i've ever seen. Keep it up man
🔥
Love this video. So very well done
Thanks a lot for the uploads your way of narrating is crazy and awesome!

@ExtraOtter yeah I agree. It's probably more like " If you see him, kill him" for some folks in the troupe
Ngl, your videos are amazingly structured and well written. Thank you!
@13:59 "so I think she's overperforming" LAUGH
Awesome videos mate. It hit the spot and more importantly they make sense
Damn, did the 2011 anime include Pika being like seconds away from murking Melody? Savage

Even mizai is hesitant to tell kurapika that the troupe is on the boat because he’s unsure how he’ll react
