Just got the spectrum door trims what i figure out was there only 1 led chip on the ends that light up the trim all i did was replaced the led chip on the ends and it worked great instead of replacing the entire led strip.
Hey quick question how did you get the cupholder light to pair with your ios app cause im looking at the parts link u sent and it has the oem cup holder part that lights up. I got the oem light kit for the ambient lighting on the door but i want to do the cupoholders your way and was wondering how i can set that up.

How have these been holding up for you? Did you only buy one of the kits? Looks pretty custom. The lighting kit to run on the radio is about 700 bucks and they have to program the infotainment system, and thats way to expensive for lights.
none I bought two kits to mimic the two tone lighting effect on the 2019+ years but you can get away with one kit that has at least 5 LED wires. The only issue I’m having is keeping the LED’s attached, the easy way is to trim the black OEM LED holder and attach the new LED directly over the light tube but I don’t want to trim it so I’m trying to see any other way. Otherwise the lighting is working perfectly, still fully controllable through the app. The OEM is pretty expensive and programming is a lot too, I’ve been in talks with a guy who was doing it the OEM way with dealer flashing and programming but he decided to swap to this DIY method after the cost for too high and procedure got too complicated The radio lights I believe can be possible with this method too, you’d just have to add 2 more LED’s so total 7 in your kit. I didn’t do the radio since I have the 7” IOB radio which doesn’t have the factory light tube
@@Bumbleboy92 How did you get the light into the door? Did you drill a hole and make your own pathway? I bought new door panels that have the light up trim piece and that lighting kit you got and i went to put the cord through the door and realized there is no pathway and its just a giant connector there...
none so that connector can be unplugged and there’s a little hole on either top or bottom side that you can run the wire through. I had to cut my LED wire and send the smaller wires through individually then reattach them on the other side. I was able to send them entirely through that door-body connection so no wires were exposed and the wires routed like OEM i.imgur.com/mKyGwEs.jpg The black wires apart from the main connector are my wires I routed
I have a very similar setup but I'm tapped into the trunk release for power. Did you remove your senter console and pull power from your cigarette lighter or what did you do to power it?
@@Bumbleboy92 I'll be ordering a other one of those controllers and tackle this project this weekend most likely. Any pointers you can give? I already ran my wires from door to door but I haven't had to tackle the center console
If you haven’t already, solder the wires and however you connect the LED’s to the door panels make sure they stick and don’t move. I used electrical tape and hot glue and both have failed me.
@@Bumbleboy92 hot glue has done me alright for 2 years now so I'm hoping that works again. Where did you end up mounting the actual controllers themselves? I'm guessing I'd have to extend the power lead out a bit from where I tap it into the center console
There’s space under the center console near the big wiring harness that you can attach them to with double sided tape. Close enough to the cig lighter that you can use the power cable that comes with it, I connected both cables, since I used 2 controllers, together then attached the pos/neg to cig lighter. If you’re sure about the hot glue then I say go for it. Mine got loose after a while, I guess due to the vibrations from driving
@@kmart014 yeah it’s a different style from 2010-2015, you could try something similar but I’m not too sure on the light tube layout and if it fits like mine did
It took me a few hours overall to route the wires and open up all the panels, I spread it over a few days since it was >100°F throughout the time I installed The time goes down a lot once you know how to take off the panels and where to/how to route the wires. Lots of time I spend brainstorming how to make it work, at one point I thought I couldn’t do it cuz the cables were too thick to route to the doors but I decided to cut the cable and reattach it on the other side after I routed the smaller cables

Mine was done with a eBay RGB controller, used a generic RGB controller app to connect to the controller through BT

Lol it’s mainly taking apart the panels and routing wires, I’m too lazy to even open my own panels again to adjust the lights
Can I get it link please?
