I'm a baby boomer, and I have been washing stuff for years. Here are some tricks and tips. 1. If those faux fur coats are polyester or another synthetic, they are totally machine washable, with a few cautions. Don't we all wash polyester or acrylic all the time?!? Washing will not hurt the fabric/fur. Washing can hurt the structure, by yanking it around too much. So, wash things like those coats in a big mesh bag. Use woolite. They get wet and get clean, but the mesh bag "holds" them and keeps them from jerking around and ruining the seams or construction. Then tumble dry on low with a few wool balls in the dryer to fluff up the fur. Or lay flat to dry, and then do 5-10 minutes in the dryer on low to fluff up the fur. 2. Cashmere and merino wool. Wool is from an animal who lives outdoors and gets rained on! It is washable. Turn the sweater inside out and put in a mesh bag. Wash on delicate, cold water, with woolite. Lay flat to dry, and reshape the sweater by gently tugging here and there to straighten out the arms, the neck, etc. Pull just a bit to arrange the body of the sweater. Do not pull hard! Just get the sweater nicely flat. Let it dry, then turn it right side out. Use a sweater shaver (I have the plug in conair one) and shave any pills off the sweater. The sweater will be soft, fluffy, and look brand new! I love your channel! And those prices were HIGH!

Okay I have been going there for the last 2 weeks and I did realize after their initial Grand Opening many prices have become more reasonable , the program they have works very well , you shop Monday -Thursday to acquire up to 50% off on Sunday , now that’s off of your subtotal , after you’ve found some great deals , also I found out they slash prices at least 1 day a week , I mean I found many high quality jeans for $3.33 a pair , that’s unheard of @ Goodwill . Most of the clothes I found were new with labels still intact , I feel like that store is a huge blessing . They always have great clothes for plus size too ! I believe that first day was higher so they could meet a quota .
Crazy prices!! I went the other day and only look at the things they've marked down to under 7. There are finds there. You just have to really look. It won't be a regular stop for me as the bins are like two blocks away. LOL!
Amazing coats, and that Staud sweater was so great. Funny, I just found a nwot Varley 1/4 zip at 1/2 off day at Salvation Army. I picked it up because the quality seemed so good, had no idea until I got home it’s still on the website for $130. I pad 1/2 of $7.99. I may get the matching wide leg pants since I got the top so cheap….they’re back ordered, no body wants the rolled cuff skinny or joggers now…wide leg is a much more elevated basic.
FTC pricing is hit or miss. I found a Versace wool wrap top for $5. I do notice their new with tag items get priced up. If it’s worth it I’ll get it, otherwise I’ll just wait for my Sunday discount. Love the coats btw! 😮
The tag only says genuine leather. No details about the collar composition. The brand is Opera. The tag definitely looks vintage. I found a few similar coats by the brand on eBay / Etsy some descriptions say faux one says mink which mine definitely does not seem like mink. I would say it feels more similar to the faux furs I found BUT I definitely will get some more opinions before cleaning. It is such a stunning piece I really just want to make sure I keep / care for it properly.
I would have noticed those prices and walked right out.. 🚶➡️ I just won’t pay those prices. They are ridiculously inflated because thrifting is now so trendy and the stores know ppl will show up and pay for those items. No..
Thrifting and re-selling are so trendy now that thrift stores are crazy overpriced for people who genuinely look for clothes to wear that they can't afford at big retail stores. It's cheaper to shop at Walmart for an outfit that's semi- quality that it is to thrift for a nice outfit. I would have walked out of that store too!!. Nobody wants to pay top dollar for 2nd and 3rd hand clothing. I ran across this video and thought she was thrifting for herself only but found out she was a reseller also marking them up triple price :/ This is what's causing the prices to skyrocket at thrift stores because they know people resell ... UGH

Faux fur coats, I always was on delicate and then hang to dry. Haven’t had an issue yet.
